It had been difficult to arrange.
Weyrlings, wherlings, and candidates lived on schedules that were quite at odds with each other, practical opposites in every way. When the idea had first been suggested to him a few days ago, Dastan had tried to think of every possible way to make it work for everyone. Their days were planned out quite tightly, and finally, he had decided that no matter how much his brilliant mind worked, it just wasn’t going to happen with everyone being able to attend. So, the former holder ended up scheduling it for early morning, when both wherlings and weyrlings were given a candlemark of free time. Word had spread quietly through the younger population of Cerulean, deftly avoiding the ears of older or more…strict-minded individuals. Finally, all the weyrlings and wherlings knew, or at least, all those that were friends with certain individuals, known mostly as ‘troublemakers.’
Grinning as he finished feeding his beloved Dassk, the boy stroked his blue wher for a few moments lovingly, eyes wandering along his vivid, gorgeous hide as he slept. Finally, he sighed and straightened, knowing that it was almost time. Changing and brushing his hair, wanting to look good for a certain female greenhandler, Dastan exited his room, strolling over to Mira’s room and knocking on the door. After a few moments, the rather lovely girl exited, and he offered her his arm before they swept out of the handler’s apartments. “Good morning, my lovely Mira. I hope you fair well today?” The Igen made a great show of bowing with a flourish, winking at her as he did.
As he and his lovely friend headed down the steps to the weyrhall, Dastan wondered how many people would actually show up. After all, it was early morning, but at the same time, it was free time after all, and who wouldn’t take advantage of that? Entering the hall, the two wherhandlers headed for the back, taking a table furthest from the entrance and eyeing the other riders that were already there. They would have to be quiet. Of course, Das wasn’t planning on gathering up this mighty force of troublemakers for anything too terrible. That wasn’t the point. The reason for this odd meeting was simply this: To have fun. Cerulean was a fantastic weyr, and Dassk colored his life with pure euphoria, and of course Mira was a delight, but still… There was a time when everyone had to just let go and act crazy, to do something spontaneous and wild. Well, you know, within reason.
However much he wanted to do something new and exciting, the bluehandler didn’t plan on getting held back from graduating or set to mucking stables for a turn, but still…they could still plan a little something without getting caught. Err, in trouble. Without getting in trouble. As the two settled, Aeris burst from between, having woken after falling asleep when Dassk was getting his bath. Grinning, Dastan watched his little green land on Mira’s shoulder, rubbing her head against the greenhandler’s cheek affectionately before running her tongue along the same path, trilling the whole while. She was sure to let the girl know that it was her beloved Dastan that kept her so clean and lovely, and he would certainly take care of any…other females that decided to make their own ‘bonds’ with him. Laughing, Dastan winked at his gorgeous companion, almost embarrassed by Aeris’s fantastic picture show. “So, who do you think will show up, lovely lady?” He asked, grey-blue eyes sweeping towards the entrance.
