Who: L'mar and Raelwyn ^_^ What: Er... whatever they end up doing. When: About a week after the Hatching, early afternoon Where: On the beach
--
Finally, finally, finally!
It had taken a few days to settle everything down, to make sure that Raelwyn would be alright, and to find shared free time. Who knew that the schedules of Weyrlings and Candidates clashed so badly? But they had finally made the plans. It was (a little) surprising that L'mar was actually the first one there, but he had to make sure that Dalisth would be nice. So he promised to go swimming with her, first. His green was delighted to have some time in the water that wasn't specifically for bathing.
So L'mar left his things (including a small, unobtrusive blue flitter, who was sleeping at the moment) and joined Dalisth in the water without a second thought. He wanted her to be nice to his best friend, and although the green seemed to like her, she had a habit of being finicky when it came to Hers' female attention. As in, she wanted all of it. The weyrling took a good candlemark to reassure his lovely little green that he would always love her most... although, really, it mainly involved splashing about in the water. Dali could be a bit of a tomboy when she was in a good mood, and she had no trouble with dunking her beloved mindmate into the water.
The little blue, left back at shore, was what it took to drag both L'mar and Dalisth out of the water. He was still just a baby creature, having hatched only a few sevendays previously, and the green had grown quite attached to him. It wasn't L'mar, but it was Dalisth, who realized after only a few moments that the flitter had woken up, and she encouraged the move back to the beach, so that he wouldn't be lonely. Our little nuisance should not be left alone for so long, and isn't the girl coming soon, anyways? They swam back towards the shore, the petite green deciding to linger in the shallows a bit longer.
There was a blanket spread on the beach, being held down at one corner by a basket, filled with rolls and juice, the second by his clothes, another by the juggling balls (he had promised, after all), and the fourth corner was held down by the little no-name. As he got dressed, L'mar debated over whether or not that should just be his name- No-Name. No. That is unacceptable for our little nuisance- he needs a proper name. You should ask the girl, Dali suggested. She was being very picky about the name for the blue, denying that anything L'mar suggested was a 'proper name'. He huffed, but acquiesced, wishing that his best friend would arrive so that Dalisth wouldn't scold him anymore.
The green splashed a bit of water towards the shore; not enough to actually wet him, but to get his attention. Like she will stop me!

After roughly a sevenday to recover, Raelwyn was finally able to move around without aggravating her cuts too greatly. The stitches that held her wounds together were itchy as fall, but she was willing to do whatever it took to get fully back on her feet again. Although she was still slower than usual, the candidate was moving much quicker than she had the day after the hatching. Grinning to herself, the girl hummed as she stepped into a nice, light skirt that wouldn’t lie against her bandages too heavily. Yes, she was better, but that didn’t mean she wasn’t still being cautious. Tugging on a tank top, the harper paused as she glanced around, wandering where her sandals had managed to run off to.
Scowling in puzzlement, the candidate knew that she had left them beside her cot. Hadn’t she? A slow smile curving her lips as an idea came to her, the candidate leaned down slightly and gently ran her finger down her little flit’s back, cooing his name. Blinking, Tydus raised his head slowly and gave a curious cheep, staring at His girl lovingly. “I need you to find something for me, love.” Raelwyn said, then sent the bronze a mental picture of her sandals. Chirping, the flit hopped into the air and zipped towards her feet, squawking in surprise when he found they were NOT there! Ty had seen His girl wear those flat-paw-coverings enough to realize what was amiss here, and quickly went about a search to find them for her. After all, it would not do for His girl to go about with those uncovered paws of hers. She could not fly, and so she could not put her tender-flat-squishy-paws on the hard stone.
Alighting on the ground, the bronze crawled to the side of her cot and peered under the bed, giving an excited cheep as he did. There, there they were! The flat-paw-coverings were under her big-sleep-poofy-thing! Hunkering down, Tydus inched under the cot and grabbed one sandal in his mouth and pulled it out, then did the same for the other. Sitting back on his haunches proudly, the little flit raised his head and chirped triumphantly, eyes whirling happily. He was obviously very pleased with himself. Grinning, Raelwyn slipped her feet into the sandals, holding out her hands. With a happy trill, the bronze leapt into the air and practically fell into her arms, nuzzling his head against her hands. "Thank you, love." The harper cooed, scratching him lovingly. He might have been the most arrogant flit to ever be born, but by Faranth he was an affectionate little thing.
Holding her hands up, the candidate waited for her growing bronze to hop onto her shoulder, his weight much more substantial than it used to be. Lastly, she grabbed her cloth bag and pulled the straps over her other shoulder, making sure the instruments inside were safe. Finally, the two made their way out of the candidate barracks, Raelwyn slowly treading down the steps. Wincing slightly, the girl breathed a sigh of relief as she reached solid ground, her pace quickening then. Making her way towards the beach, she quickly spotted her best friend on the sands. He was tugging his shirt back on, and his hair was wet. Green eyes darting over to his dragon playing in the shallows, it was easy to tell he had been swimming with his before the harper arrived.
Grinning, wishing more than anything that she could run over and tackle him with a hug instead of pathetically limping up to him, the candidate called out his name and waved. "L'mar!" She shouted joyfully, green eyes shining as she approached. "I'm so happy to see you!" Tydus leapt from her shoulder as he recognized his favorite bonded-to-bigwing-person, zipping towards him and landing on the boy's shoulder to chitter excitedly. Shards, aside from His girl, he was the flit's favorite person! Uncaring that he was wet, Raelwyn threw her arms around the weyrling and hugged him fiercely, laughing as she did. "I have missed you." Pulling away, the harper's gaze fell to the outstretched blanket and felt a smile curve her lips. How thoughtful of him. Suddenly, her eyes landed on the little blue, and she gasped. "When did you find a flitter?" She asked, turning to look at the weyring, then abruptly changed her mind. "Wait, you can tell me later. First things first, I must introduce myself to your Dalisth." Smiling, the harper glanced past L'mar towards the waters, eager to meet his wonderful little green. It was so, so wonderful to be spending time with him again.

The girl is here, Mineown, Dalisth intoned from the shallows, as she brought her wing up to pour water onto her head. It was an awkward procedure, but she could see the girl who Hers seemed to like so much. Almost a rival for attention, except not, because Dali knew that no human girl could ever compete with her. She was, after all, the most beautiful green, and L'mar had to love her. Because he had to. Oh, where? L'mar looked around for his best friend, finding her moments after she shouted his name. A large grin appeared on the weyrling's face, and he hurried to fix his shirt, uncaring that it was getting a little bit damp from his ocean-soaked skin. Thanks, Dali, he added.
As her arms wrapped around him, L'mar leaned over a little bit to wrap his own in a large hug. Straightening a little, he lifted her up a bit, and probably would have twirled her around if he hadn't caught himself. Instead, he finally released her and maneuvered to kiss her on the cheek, only pulling away when he was sure that it'd release a large, wet noise. “I've missed you too, best friend. It's a good thing that we only haven't seen one another for less than a sevenday, else wise there'd be some severe separation anxiety.” He watched as a bronze flitter took flight, to land on his own shoulder, and he grinned. “Well hey there, little king,” he said in response to his chittering. Tydus was, frankly, quite the fantastic companion. On the whole, L'mar was glad that Rael had someone like the bronze to keep her company when he wasn't there.
His attention was drawn back to Raelwyn as she mentioned their little blue who had no name. Opening his mouth to tell her about the little creature, he was cut off abruptly. Mouth snapped shut, replaced with a large, bright smile. “Well then, come on,” L'mar told her, leading her towards the water. When the edge of the wave lapped at his feet, he stopped. Oh, you're not going to make her go out there. Come on, you wanted to meet her, too, the weyrling encouraged with a beckoning hand to his green. Twitching her tail in mock-irritation, Dalisth clumsily made her way closer to shore, and therefore closer to Hers and Hers' girl.
It was true, she did truly want to meet the girl that had her L'mar so happy. The green was delighted that Hers had found someone that made him happy, without scarring her terribly due to inappropriate relationships. Catching on the back of that thought, L'mar bent over to splash water at the approaching green. Hush, you know it's not like that, he thought at his dragon. She merely flicked her tail, playfully splashing water back at both Hers and the girl. Despite not often getting along with other females, her mindmate had frequently assured her that the girl was different, and so she would believe him for now.
Dalisth flexed her talons in the wet sand, feeling herself sink in now that she was no longer floating around. It was an odd feeling, but she only indulged for a moment or two before she turned her wedge-shaped head up to look at the girl. Greetings, gi--... Raelwyn, she said neutrally. It was only manners to use someone's name when you knew it in conversation, but she had to catch herself from saying 'girl'. Usually, she used it to make sure that Hers wasn't mixed up, and thought that she liked the little one or something like that. Which... she did, but she didn't want L'mar getting too comfortable with that fact. Mine talks of little else. That was true, as well. Oh! And she could help them name the little nuisance!

There was that grin Raelwyn loved. The weyrling made her feel more important and cared about than anyone had in a long, long time, even counting her friends at Fort. He was her perfect, wonderful, funny best friend and she loved him. Laughing in delight as he lifted her from the ground during their hug, she clung to him tightly, so happy that he seemed as pleased to see her as she was to see him. When he left that loud, sloppy kiss on her cheek, the candidate couldn’t help but laugh even more, grinning incessantly. It had only been a sevenday but, shards, without him around, her life seemed utterly dull. “What are you talking about?” The girl said, feigning surprise and acting overly dramatic, “I was experiencing separation anxiety!” No, it hadn’t exactly reached that point just yet, but she had been completely bored and thought about him constantly, so it was close enough.
As his favorite little-bigwing-bonded acknowledged him, the bronze flit resumed his chattering full force, telling the boy his very interesting stories of what had happened in their time apart. Firstly, Tydus told him about those yummy meat-food-bits His had fed him earlier today, because those were just too good to not mention, and then the absolutely enthralling story of his bravery, daring, and quick wit while he managed to find His girl’s flat-paw-coverings. That was the best story of them all! Of course, never mind that L’mar did not speak flitter-chitter…The bronze had things to tell him! Important things!
Chuckling at her flit’s antics, the candidate then sobered as she followed her friend towards the water, feeling a little knot of unease suddenly manifest in her lower belly. She wanted to meet Dalisth, more than anything, but at the same time she was afraid the green may not like her. Raelwyn remembered well the weyrling telling her she did not take well to other females, and to be honest the harper worried she would among the list of unwelcome girls. As they reached the edge of the water, the candidate’s green eyes darted to L’mar, knowing that she could not go any further. Normally, Rael would have been more than happy to swim right out to the dragonet, but she couldn’t get her bandages wet and water in her healing wounds.
Watching the play between the two, the water-tossing that occurred, the harper keenly felt her loss, her loneliness that continued onward as she stood again and again as a candidate. For a moment, she felt sad, then abruptly a different feeling blossomed in her chest. Now, just why was she feeling so sorry for herself? She had Tydus, her sweet, arrogant, and utterly affectionate bronze that loved her more than anything, and her wonderful, amazing, perfect best friend that made her feel like she was just perfect being Raelwyn, and nothing else. A warm, happy smile spreading across her face, the girl clasped her hands together, waiting for the green to reach the shore.
Waiting patiently for the dragonet to look her way, Raelwyn smiled brightly as she did, green gaze meeting a whirling regard. One corner of her lips tilted up further as the green caught herself, actually giving the harper’s full name as she spoke directly to the girl. Eyes brightening, the candidate bowed to the dragon before her, her face exuberant. “Well met, Dalisth. I have been eagerly awaiting this day so I could meet you! I’m so happy I finally could.” Truly enough, the young dragon did not seem quite as pleased as Rael did, but that mattered little. The candidate was just happy the green was speaking to her! Of course, it made her giddy all over to hear how often the weyrling talked of her, and her smile was bright when she replied, “When we met, Dalisth, your L’mar talked of little else but you. It is easy to see how much you love each other.” Now that was true, more so than anything. “Oh!” the harper added, pointing to the bronze on Her’s shoulder. “And that is Tydus. Say hello, Tydus.” Rael instructed the bronze, and the flit cocked his head toward the green. If she was the bigwing that belong to his favorite bigwing-bonded, than she must be wonderful too. The flit chirped a greeting, looking utterly solemn and serious from his perch. The candidate grinned.

Well that was utterly unacceptable. Curse Rael's injury, because he wanted nothing more than to pick her up, swing her around, and reassure his best friend that he'd never ever leave again... ever. As it was, L'mar grabbed at her hand, clutching it to him. “Well, no worries now, my dearest. I will never leave you for so long a time, not ever again.” Despite the fact that he was jesting (obviously), he was being partially truthful. Although time for leisure could be hard to come by for weyrlings and candidates both, he was fully devoted to making time to spend with Raelwyn. Especially while she was injured, as she may need some help... and then especially after she was healed, as they could get into all sorts of shenanigans. Basically, he would always make time for her.
Oh Faranth. What was he saying? The bronze just kept on chittering and chattering, leaving L'mar at a complete and utter loss of what he was trying to say. Still, he assumed that he was trying to tell stories. There didn't seem to be any sense of urgency in his tone, and so the weyrling nodded to acknowledge that he was (trying) to listen. When the creature stopped chirping and chirruping, the weyrling grinned. “Well I got up this morning and ate breakfast and did some chores... and then I cajoled some kitchen folk into filling up this basket so that you and me and our girl can eat pretty well. Oh! And then me and one of your cousins, my Dali, we went for a swim. But nope, your stories are much more interesting than my own.” Going on blind luck and hoping that he hadn't completely missed his mark, L'mar winked at Rael.
It was sweet, and heart-warming, and fantastic to see how honestly eager she was to meet his Dalisth. That smile on her face as the green greeted her was unlike anything L'mar had ever seen, and it made him sickeningly pleased. Although his mindmate had, quite irritatingly, not involved him in her side of the conversation, he determined by focusing on Rael's reactions that she wasn't being too terribly offensive. Which was good, especially considering her aversion to the female gender. Still, he sent off the thought- Be nice, love. It's better to be safe, rather than sorry, as his mama used to say. I'm always nice! Dalisth protested, for his mind alone. He barely contained a derisive snort.
Even when he was included in Raelwyn's side of the conversation, he still said nothing. It wasn't his place to interrupt the greetings... at least, not the initial ones. He was sure to add in his own opinion later, anyways. No need to start now, when it wasn't necessary, and he didn't have anything particularly clever to say. However, although he hadn't been included in Dalisth's initial words, she apparently felt that he should hear the rest of it. Mine does love me. He loves you too, though, and I suppose you are pretty. And you seem to like me, so you have good taste. Yes, I think I like you. Her attention was quickly distracted as she focused on Tydus. She liked firelizards- they were just so helpful! Well, they could be nuisances, but they were pretty and tended to be nice. Firelizards! Cousins! You know that I and Mine have our own little nuisance, he has no name, and we need to name him. I like firelizards.
L'mar couldn't resist chuckling. Trust Dali to bring it all back to their little flitter so quickly. She just adored the blue, even while she called him a nuisance. “It's true, you know. I was hoping you could help us... but on your own time. Right now you're acquainting yourself with Dali, here.” In the mean time, the little blue had found his feet and winged, carefully, over to L'mar. He was a little unsteady, still tiny that he was, but he was a stable enough creature. Landing gently on his bonded's shoulder, the flitt tilted his head at Rael and chirped happily.

Unable to keep from smiling as L’mar grabbed her hand and cradled it against him, the candidate felt a warm fuzziness tingle through her body. True, they were merely joking, but at the same time something told her he really meant that. Raelwyn had never had a relationship quite this deep with anyone, not even with her family. Her parents were rather too interested in each other to pay attention to their children, and her siblings had never expressed a desire to become close either. At Fort Weyr, the harper had made friends of course, but never had it been like this. Never. “I would prefer that you did not, my dear weyrling.” The girl replied, squeezing her fingers gently around his.
Blinking, the flitter stared at the boy with an utterly serious expression as he recounted his own stories, adding chirps of agreement where he deemed needed. Of course, the bronze wasn’t exactly catching everything that L’mar was saying, but he did manage to get the gist of several things. Particularly the word ‘eat’ was a big part of his limited vocabulary, and when that popped up, Tydus chirruped excitedly, his eyes whirling faster. The firelizard was always up for that! Resuming his chattering once the weyrling had finished, the bronze started looking around for the food, ready to eat now. However, before he spotted any, his favorite bigwing-bonded started moving, and Tydus chirped in surprise, flaring his wings slightly to steady himself. Oh well, they could have yummy-meat-food-bits later.
Waiting anxiously for the green’s response, Raelwyn stood quietly, hoping she had made a good impression on the dragon. That same, warm feeling returned as Dalisth replied, her words bringing a brilliant smile to the candidate’s face. When L’mar told her his green harbored quite an aversion to females, the harper had been just as nervous as she had been excited to meet the little darling. There was nothing that said she had to like Rael just because her rider did, and it would have crushed the girl had she not. That same, bright smile upon her lips, Raelwyn said, “Thank you, Dalisth. It makes me so happy that you like me.” She would have reached out and scratched the green’s eyeridges, but the harper did not want to overstep her bounds by any means. Oh, Dali liked her! That just made her entire day wonderful. “I love him, too.” Her eyes glancing quickly towards L’mar, she smiled softly before returning her full attention to the dragon. “And I think you are magnificent!” Grinning, Rael nodded to Dalisth in agreement. “I saw your little blue earlier. I like firelizards too.”
Perking up as the attention of His and the bigwing switched to him, Tydus looked between the two of them, chirping. Whirling regard focusing on the green bigwing in the water, the bronze leaned forward and planted his front paws on his favorite bigwing-bonded-boy’s chest, trying to get closer to the dragon. Stretching his neck out, the flit sent Dalisth images of the water, followed by more pictures of him helping her wash the hard to reach places, such as behind the pointy-head-knob-things they both shared. He was quite good at it.
Straightening, focusing her attention on the weyrling, Raelwyn smiled brightly. “Oh, I would happy to help you think of a fitting name for him.” She included the boy and the dragon in her attentions, for she spoke to both. Tilting her head slightly to the side as she caught movement from the corner of her eye, the harper’s eyes brightened as the little blue made an unsteady approach, then made an admirably gentle landing on L’mar’s other unoccupied shoulder. When the flit chirped at her, Rael couldn’t help but giggle at the adorable little guy. Leaning close to the weyrling, she smiled at the blue. “Hello, there.” She cooed softly, then glanced upward, grinning at L’mar. “He’s precious. Do either of you have any preferences for his name?” Her eyes took in both the green and her bonded, for the candidate was careful to include Dalisth in everything she said.

Despite not believing in love at first sight, the weyrling was having serious thoughts about the occurrence of love-at-first-juggle. Truth be told, he had always laughed at the boys who would go on about how they had seen their love, and known that they were meant to be together forever. But wasn't that really what happened? Sure, there had been a delightful conversation that lasted candlemarks, but by the end of it, he had been proclaiming Raelwyn to be his best friend. And she was. Just because he didn't want to throw her down in the sand and have his wicked way with her (something Dali, he was sure, would loudly protest) didn't mean that he didn't love her. “Well, then, that settles it!” L'mar declared. “We'll see each other at least once a day!” An unrealistic idea, but.... still.
Oh yes, Dalisth was liking this girl more and more! I am magnificent, she agreed grandly, preening briefly under the praise. L'mar mock-groaned, causing more water to be flicked at him. The green was extra-careful now, however, so that she didn't make the girl wet. She liked her! “Now she's going to be insufferable. I know she's lovely and simply the best green on Pern, but the more people tell her, the more she wants to let all the other greens know,” the weyrling confided in Rael. “I just wish to spare their feelings!” The wink he gave to his best friend earned him another flick of water. Despite that, she continued on as if she didn't hear Hers. I love them! They are nuisances, but they are fantastic scrubbers, and they sometimes help 'MarMine in my baths, she told Raelwyn cheerily. In her annoyance with Hers, she left him out of the conversation again, causing him to pout dramatically at the edge of the water at Rael.
The bronze nuisance began sending her images- water, and then washing, just as she had just told his humanpet. Oh yes! Delighted, Dalisth crooned aloud, and then continued in mindspeak to the tiny little bronze. She especially liked him because he was a bronze, which meant king, and she liked kings, even if they were little. Yes, oh yes, you can help anytime! She bespoke him excitedly. Letting Raelwyn into the conversation, she added, We'll all be great friends!! Not only was the girl keeping His out of trouble and making him happy, her little bronze king, who was her cousin, was sending pictures of washing, which she liked a lot.
L'mar was still pouting, as Dali had yet to let him back into the conversation. However, when Rael began talking about their little blue, he brightened. “I don't,” he said, giving free reign as the flitter craned his neck out to look at the new human. Only when he got as close to her face as he could without leaving his bonded's shoulder did he chirp again. It landed him in a precocious position, balanced carefully, his wings partly extended, in a fairly comical expression, with his dull blue form extended. So far, he'd ignored the bronze, despite the fact that he was on the shoulder opposite of him and he was putting his paws all over his own bonded. Quite frankly, he didn't really care.
Already, Dalisth was tired of Hers' pouting. She liked the girl, and Hers was being silly, so she continued to directly bespeak the girl. Yes that's my nuisance. I love him! she told Rael. But me and silly Mine cannot find a name for him. Hopefully, the girl that had the nuisance of her own, and was such good friends with her L'mar, could help them with their predicament. And then she could go swim some more, and maybe find a nice blue to chat with for a candlemark or two. Better yet- she could sleep!

((Sorry it took so long. To be honest, thinking of names for the blue is what kept me. ~.~ Sorry!))
A bright smile upon her face, Raelwyn laughed in delight, clasping both of her hands around the boy’s. “That, my dear weyrling, sounds like a wonderfully fantastic idea.” She said happily, winking. Of course, the candidate had a feeling that it was rather impossible for them to do so, but still, just to hear him say it made warm little tingles run through her body. It was a most unusual and astonishing emotion she felt for L’mar. He was her best friend, of course, but it went a little deeper than that. Rael loved him more than anyone in her life aside from Tydus; he was precious to her, and she needed him, like air or water. How she had come to rely on his presence in her life so heavily, the harper didn’t know, but she could feel how important he was to her. Raelwyn would be miserable without him.
Grinning as the dragon agreed heartily with her praise, the candidate turned slightly and gave her full attention to L’mar. A little smile curved her lips as the weyrling began to speak, one brow quirking higher with every word. Laughing brightly, the girl shook her head, leaning close as he winked at her. “Well, honestly, it’s best the other greens hear it now, dear L’mar.” Raelwyn said in a mock-whisper, her expression rather conspiratorial. “It’s very sweet of you to think of their tender feelings, but the longer they have to come to terms with Dalisth being more lovely and better than them, the better.” Nodding sagely, as if that was the final say on the matter, the harper slipped her companion a devilish grin before turning her head back towards the dragon. Smiling, Raelwyn nodded at the green, clasping her hands together. “They are rather adorable, and Tydus loves to help dragons with their baths.”
Pausing, the harper realized her little bronze was telling Dalisth just that. Ah, so he liked the green already? Of course, from their bond, Raelwyn gathered that he thought of the dragon as an extension of the weyrling, and so accepted her quickly. Turning her head to smile at her best friend, the girl hesitated. For a moment, she was confused as to why the weyrling was pouting so grandly at her, but as she suddenly realized he was not commenting on Dalisth’s words, it dawned on the candidate the green was only speaking to her, and leaving him out of the loop. Both shocked and honored, Raelwyn stepped back a bit and slipped her hand into the boy’s, threading her fingers through his.
Still leaning down his favorite bigwing-bonded-boy’s chest, the bronze chirruped happily at Dalisth, sending her bright colors and cheerful emotions. She was a good bigwing-green, to like him so much. Of course, anyone should realize his brilliance; he was Tydus after all! With the bigwing, His, and his favorite boy, the little flit was going to have a wonderful day, oh yes! Jumping from L’mar’s shoulder, the bronze glided easily over to the bigwing-green, landing on her shoulders majestically. Trilling and whistling, Tydus began to scratch her hide expertly, sending her questioning thoughts. The bigwing-green liked that, yes?
“Yes, I’m very sure we will.” Raelwyn agreed quickly with Dalisth, her face bright and happy. Her fingers reflexively squeezed the weyrling’s briefly, a physical expression of just how blissful she was at the moment. Everything seemed to be working out so wonderfully, it was a perfect day. Humming thoughtfully as she stared at the blue, her lips twitching with amusement as he leaned closer, the candidate felt a laugh bubble inside her. The flitter was adorable! Cocking her head as the green bespoke her once more, feeling a shiver of delight dance up and down her spine, the harper smiled at Dalisth. It was intoxicating to hear a dragon speak directly to her so very much; the girl was loving it. “Well, let’s see if we can’t find a fitting name for your little nuisance.” Raelwyn said, winking at the green before concentrating on the flit. Humming again in thought, the candidate dismissed several names before glancing up at her beloved best friend. “Well, he is adorable. He must take that after his bonded human and dragon.” Grinning, the candidate leaned against L’mar slightly, ticking off a few names she decided were fitting. “Well, Nuisance seems to have stuck, or you could use Trouble. Or maybe Curious or Snoopy, since he seems so interested in everything.” Pausing, Rael added, “Or you could even name him after his beautiful green, with Dalin or Dalisen.” Her eyes meeting the weyrling’s, the girl smiled hopefully, wanting to help him in any way she could.

It was actually disappointing that they couldn't see each other every day... and, now that he thought about it, L'mar wished, on some level, that she had Impressed at the last clutch. Then they would have the same common room, and share a section of the Weyr. They'd get to go to weyrling lessons together, and their dragons could meet. But he knew that there hadn't been a gold egg last clutch. He'd swallow his little blue if she didn't Impress a gold- Raelwyn just had that type of personality type. She could handle it, he was sure, and he had absolute faith in her. But... still. By the time that she did Impress a gold, he would almost definitely have graduated, sparing if he did something completely off the wall and got held back. Smiling at the thought, L'mar looked at his best friend and said, “I would get held back for you, my love.” Probably completely random in her own thoughts.
I'm only trying to be nice, Dalisth agreed, her voice tinged with appreciation at Rael's words. But I have no problem with letting the annoying greens know that I'm better than they are. Mine just doesn't want me to. Generally, she tried to abide by L'mar's wishes. Sparing, of course, when he was being ridiculous, such as now. She refused to involve him so long as he was being silly, and would be perfectly content talking to the good-influence girl. Especially when her bronze nuisance came over and began scrubbing right at her itchy spot. That was soooooo nice. Crooning gently, the green didn't waste any time projecting very positive emotions towards the creature. Yes, this officially put both L'mar's girl and her bronze nuisance on her top human-nuisance pairs.
Disconcerting- that was the best word L'mar could use to describe it. He didn't like being left out, and this was his mindmate who was doing it. Pouting exaggeratedly, he only stopped when Raelwyn put her hand in his own. Squeezing it gently, he gave her a bright smile, bottom lip drawing back into a more natural, less pitiful-looking position. Yes, Rael was brilliant and he was glad to have her. She was the kindest, sweetest girl... ever. Just try and deny it, Pernese boy. Just try and deny it. He'd have Dali flame 'em. Not really... but he was sure he could prank the kid real bad, which could be more fun. Rael, of course, probably wouldn't approve of this plan, so of course he didn't let her in on it.
His best friend seemed so delighted right now. It was exhilarating, even with Dalisth cutting him out of the equation. She just seemed so bright and open, honestly more pleased with something that L'mar viewed as common. It was so beyond sweet. “Oh, good, you're helping!” he proclaimed happily. “I was at a loss.” Of course his beloved green would take the initiative to talk to Raelwyn. As she began spouting off names, he chuckled lowly. See?! He hadn't even thought of any of these... despite all of the times Dalisth had referred to the blue as her little 'nuisance' and all the time those two spent together. Swinging her arm up a little, just enough to knock her a little bit off balance if she wasn't in a firm position, he grinned. “You're so much smarter than me,” he told her happily.
Alright, she was done, and Hers was being a little less annoying. Plus she loved him and the blue was his, too. So, with a mental sigh, Dalisth included him in her side of the conversation. I like Nuisance! Or... naming my nuisance after me... the green began exploring the option, and L'mar, although delighted in his Dali's inclusion of him again, immediately realized danger zone. “Ohh... love... I love you... let's not do that,” he told her. In a whispered aside to Rael (disregarding that Dalisth would hear anything he said due to their telepathic link- if he whispered low enough SHE COULDN'T HEAR), he continued, “It's actually a good idea... for anyone other than Dalisth. Imagine naming a smaller flitter after Tydus. Now, that's a little drastic, but it's along the same lines.” He grinned.
