Candidates, Weyrlings and Wherlings will all have mandatory chores to attend to in addition to their classes. The chores will rotate OOC monthly, while as with performing a job, only a single thread is required to count the chore as 'done'. Those with similar chores may create and work together in the same thread.
Note: If two of your characters get accidentally put together, or someone is missing, please PM Rouxy.

Chores and Rotations
-For Candidates, Weyrlings and Wherlings-
Changing Glows:Tazar, A'daen, Dastan
Kitchen Duties: Batavia, K'ron, C'ko
Library Duties: Synchella, Keiko
Dock work: R'lian, Raelwyn, Valee
Infirmary Work: E'ric, R'nen, Meta
Childcare: Vladisyana, Z'lor, Kestrel
Firestone Bagging: Mu, K'vin, Sa'niel
General Cleaning: Mira, Haverisen
Special Request: D'uo (V'taph), M'vren (S'lain)
Changing Glows: Each and every glow around the Weyr must be changed periodically. This job is simple but lengthy, in that the Weyr is a large place to check all the glow baskets.
Kitchen Duties: From slicing tubers to serving the meals, kitchen duties may require you to scrub pots and pans or pour the evening wine. Of course, you may get a tasty treat out of it, but don't expect to laze around eating all day.
Library Duties: The library from Silver Cove was moved to Cerulean, and things are still out of order. There's no more need for hand copying of texts, but they need to be dusted, arranged, and replaced when necessary, as well as crushing the correct pigments for ink to jot down any number of things.
Dock work: Help haul in the day's catch from the small fleet of fishing ships, learn how to mend nets and wash the docks. Also, keeping the wood in good repair might take up your day, or you might be on watch for dolphin alerts.
Infirmary Work: Expect to mix numbweed salve, cut bandages, clean bedpans and change sheets, or care for non-critical patients in a nurse-like position to help the healers with their work. You may be caring for dragons or humans, depending on the need.
Childcare: The creche is experiencing a large number of children, and the help they get from the older candidates and weyrlings is indispensable. Change diapers, watch a group of children or bring in a flitter and entrance them all for about five minutes.
Firestone Bagging: Much as it sounds, firestone harvested on the island and brought in from offshore needs to go into bags for each dragon to carry. A dusty, dirty, tiring job, but there are breaks often and typically rounds of fruit juice for the workers and haulers. Bagging takes place on either a nearby beach, or on the docks where boats ship it in from the mine on the other side of the island.
General Cleaning: Laundry, mopping, sweeping and the like of weyrs, the Great Hall and the hallways will occupy you in this chore. You'll change bedclothes, and might be assigned to clean a personal weyr.
Special Request: Often times, riders or family members wish a candidate to pursue a specific task, or at least attempt to continue learning a trade skill. They would then spend chores time doing said learning or task. This is especially typical of riders taking candidates under their wing so to speak, and teaching them specialized skills. If a rider has requested the weyrling, his or her name will be included here. -If you plan to do this with a character, notify Rouxy, and she'll remove the character from normal chores. Have a plan first, don't just be trying to get out of chores
Chores for Marks
There are several various chores that people, from candidates to riders, can do to earn some extra pocket change. Each of these chores is limited to its specific amount of earnings. You are free to post in as many as you wish, however each chore can only reward its number of marks once per RL month
Washing Dragons: 1/4 of a Mark earned per dragon washed in the single thread. Much like a carwash, however many dragons join into the washing thread will denote how many marks you get. This amount is not deducted from the rider, however so feel free to join in an announced Dragon wash. Riders can 'tip' the washers from their own supply though.
Watching the Herd: Extra watchers for the food herd can get 1/2 a Mark for their work. This is most pointedly a chore for Riders, as the watch is to protect against feline attacks. A Weyrling or Candidate would likely be too vulnerable unless aided by a small group of other people working together.
Gathering Food: Hunting, fishing and gathering of wild food is good for 1/4 of a Mark. People can fish off the docks or inland rivers, hunt wherries or wild herdbeasts or look for edible plants.
Note: If two of your characters get accidentally put together, or someone is missing, please PM Rouxy.
