The Pernese count time similarly to Earthfolk, with different names. The year is called a Turn (always capitalized). It is divided into 12 months of 30 days each, with 2 extra days, one at the beginning of the Turn, and one at the end, called Turnover. Months are numbered, as are days of the week, known as sevendays. Thus, they have first month, second month, third month, etc., and Firstday, Secondday, Thirdday, etc.
On a larger level, Turns are generally counted by Passes and Intervals.
OOC =Out of character IC =In character
Each month of OOC time is a new season, and a Turn passes every four months. To get more specific, each OOC day equals 3 IC days. One OOC month equals three IC months. On a loose scale, a month of in character time passes every ten days OOC. We will be keeping track of this change in time monthly, by rotating through the seasons.
The breakdown
1 OOC day = 3 IC days 10 OOC days = 1 IC month 1 OOC Months = 3 IC months / 1 Season 4 OOC months = 1 IC year
So, for example, a Weyrling that matures in 1 Turn would be mature in real time approx 4 Months. A firelizard that matures in 1/2 a Turn would be grown in 2 Months real time.
