Who: Raelwyn and L'mar
What: Dress shopping!
When: Afternoon free time
Where: Outside the candidates barracks, then on to the hold
~~~~~~~
Humming lowly to herself, Raelwyn was all smiles and shivers of excitement as she brushed her hair, gazing at her reflection critically. Today, it was hard not to smile, for she and her best friend were going to spend their entire afternoon together. She and L’mar had barely seen each other recently, especially after Trith’s Flight, but now that the clutch was safely on the sands and the gold was accepting of them, both she and the greenrider had decided that it had been far too long since they’d had some fun. So, since a hatching feast would soon follow, Rael had asked the boy to ferry her over to the hold in order to shop for a new dress. The two she owned were growing far too small for her, especially considering she had just turned seventeen and her figure was filling out, and was looking forward to finding another. The candidate had considered blue, since she was a harper after all, but when it came down to it, green complimented her far better.
Grinning, she sat her brush down and mentally prodded her two firelizards, both asleep on her bed. Of course, Tydus had settled upon her pillow, all snarls and glares until he was certain that small-stupid-brown knew that it was his spot and no one else’s. Cloud, in turn, had thrust his nose in the air and ignored the haughty bronze altogether, curling up in the furs and pretending the other flit didn’t even exist. Raelwyn had learned quickly enough that her little brown tended to act that way with anything that he didn’t like, avoiding it like it was diseased and acting as if the disliked item didn’t even rest upon the same astral plane as he. Shaking her head, the harper couldn’t help but laugh softly at the two, unable to stay angry at them for their bullheaded, irritating tendencies. They were annoying, all right, but they were hers, and she loved them both dearly.
As her mind met with theirs, both flits stirred slowly, raising their heads and sending curious chirps and trills towards their girl. Smiling, Raelwyn approached the bed, gesturing for the two to take their customary places. “Come, loves.” She laughed, smiling as Tydus took his usual spot upon her shoulders and Cloud landed gently in her upturned hands, minding his wickedly long and sharp claws. “We have to meet L’mar!” With that, the harper left her room, certain that her satchel was attached firmly to her belt upon her hip, and shut the door soundly. Holding her arm in sort of cradle position, Raelwyn waited for her brown to curl up there before she left the barracks, having one arm free at least. That was the only downside to having the two firelizards; Tydus absolutely refused to share her shoulders with the other flit, and so she had to find other ways to carry Cloud.
Stepping a few feet away from the door, the harper waited near the edge of the cliff for her best friend to arrive. With the strange and sad happenings during Trith’s Flight, neither of them had been very happy lately, and so this trip outside Cerulean was exactly what they needed. Even though she still worried for the queen in her heart, Raelwyn was also looking forward to leaving her worries and anxiety behind for a fun afternoon with L’mar. After all, he could always make her laugh, no matter what. Aside from that, Dalisth seemed to actually like her as well, which made the candidate even happier. The green was known to have a certain aversion to other females, a tendency that had made Rael extremely nervous about meeting the dragoness. However, Dali had been exceedingly gracious about her rider’s best friend, and the harper loved the green. At that thought, her bronze raised his head from where he lounged upon her shoulder, crooning lowly. They were going to see the boy-who-called-him-king? Oooooh, he liked that male twolegs, and his pretty-bigwing-green! Cloud, however, stared at them blankly, which made his bonded groan. Oh, right. The brown hadn’t met L’mar or Dalisth yet, which meant this was sure to be a rather…interesting afternoon.
