Who: Raelwyn/Open
What: Chores-Childcare
When: Midday before Lunch
Where: Creche
Warnings: None.
Even though Raelwyn knew that she still had chores to complete, it was rather difficult to pull herself away from Ellenath to do them. She was utterly in love with the delicate, gentle gold, and even being apart from her for a candlemark was too much. Yet, despite this, the weyrling knew her duty, and she would do it well…even if she didn’t want to leave her dragon long enough to see it finished. With a soft sigh, the girl ran her hand down the queen’s glittering hide one last time, pressing a kiss to her cheek. “I’ll be back soon, my love.” She said softly, scratching the gold’s eyeridges tenderly before stepping away.
Humming lowly with pleasure, the young queen nuzzled her rider as the harper pulled back, eyes whirling with contentment. I should hope so, my lovely. It is a bit selfish of me, but I loathe sharing you with the twoleg hatchlings, even if only for a short mark of time every day.
Smiling tenderly at her beloved dragon, Raelwyn kissed her again before straightening, beckoning her two firelizards over as well. Tydus and Cloud perched on her shoulders, rubbing against her cheeks affectionately while the girl laughed. “I know, I’ll miss you too.” She said soothingly, raising her hands to cup their head’s delicately and planting a kiss on each of them affectionately. “Goodbye, my loves.” With that, Tydus rose, hovering near Ellenath while Cloud returned to his basket, curling up in the green blanket. The goldweyrling then left her room, heading towards the crèche quickly so she would not be late.
Upon entering, the harper relieved the current drudge on duty and smiled at the children, while they eagerly moved forward with smiles of their own. After the first sevenday, they had learned that Raelwyn always had a new game for them to play, seeming to always be in a good mood no matter what. “Guess what?” She asked excitedly, smiling as she kneeled before the children so she could see their faces better. When several of them piped out ‘what?’s’ in reply, the weyrling grinned. “I have a new game for you to play, but it’s a very secret game, ok? That means it’s very special. Do you think you can learn it?” When they all nodded enthusiastically, Raelwyn straightened, clapping. “I’m sure you’re right. You are a very bright bunch of younglings.”
With a snort, Ellenath gave a bright mental laugh. Oh, my lovely. Sometimes I wonder at your ability to play so well.
I’m a harper, Ellie. Charisma and deception come with the territory. The queenweyrling grinned in reply, enjoying the feel of her dragon’s amusement. Quickly, she had the children lined up in the crèche, ready to begin their game, Raelwyn smiling and laughing as they did.
