The hatching grounds are located at the top of the cliff, several dragon lengths back from the edge in a large cleared area. Located closest to the jungle, there’s a watchdragon station on the far side. The sands are in a large depression heated from below with drudge-tended tunnels. Open to the air, a winch system can raise and lower two half-circles of material to completely and protectively enclose the sands.

These are the Hatching Caverns for our local whers to Clutch and Hatch in, located just off the Handler's Apartments. The light is dim, but glows line every passage. There are three different caverns for an egg-heavy female to choose from.

The various living quarters of the Weyr are divided up between Riders, Weyrlings, Wherhandlers, Candidates, and other Weyrstaff.

The kitchens are located just off the Great Hall, and are always open for the hungry. A bin of small discards is kept for hungry flitters, while large ovens always keep fresh bread available. Imports from the nearby Holds assure a variety of foodstuffs.

Fighting Threadfall or felines (or just falling down the stairs), come here if you or your dragon are sick or injured. Flits and Whers can also be cared for in the large central cavern.

Both dragons and fire-lizards can choose to Rise here, though one can never know when the precise moment will happen. Wherries are not in abundance, but it makes for perfect flight conditions with the warm sun radiating from the dark rock that covers most of this area. Advanced Weyrling classes will likely take place here as well.

There are several long docks that extend into the clear Southern waters, each with space for several crafts of differing sizes. Tithes from the Holds typically come in via ship, so this is always a busy location. Boats belonging to the fisher accompaniment at the Weyr haul in nets full of rich southern fish, so there’s always a salty, oily smell permeating the wood.

Some of the beaches around Cerulean are remote and mostly untraveled, though others of the Southern Continent will have several visitors. Take a dip, or associate with the pods of dolphins that patrol these waters. This is also where fire-lizard nests are most likely to be found.

There's an elaborate system of caves northwest of Cerulean. Many of the caves are unexplored and unmapped, so it is easy to become lost in the labyrinth of dark passages. There's no telling what kinds of creatures live in the darkness.

The dolphin pod in these waters has an alert bell and training facility here. Despite its smallish status, Silver Cove's dolphineer outpost provides important information about westward heading squalls and hurricanes, warning Holds further west of the incoming danger.

The first Hold and the largest collection of technology now on Pern. Small computers store data, and avid knowledge seekers continue to comb through old vids and files. While computers will never be common on Pern, Landing carefully vouchsafes their technology from further loss. The small but revered Tech Hall has created the need for a full Hold.

A large, open Weyr located farthest north on the Southern Continent. Created just before the Ninth Pass, it still stands strong today - a sprawling, city-like affair of personal beach-weyrs and large cliff-side caverns.
