Smiling slightly in reply to his friend’s query, an enigmatic look crossed the boy’s face before he spoke. “I went…I just didn’t stay very long. I was pretty tired from all the excitement, I suppose.” Despite his easy words, however, a fleeting expression could be seen in K’ron’s eyes, a definite unspoken truth behind his reply. Shrugging, the ex-beastcrafter then smiled fully at the other new weyrling, eyes wandering over him. “You look pretty refreshed yourself. I didn’t see you at the feast. Did you not go?” To be honest, the boy was honestly curious as to where his friend had been, having looked for him a while after arriving in the weyrhall. K’ron had eventually given up, though, and had figured K’vin wasn’t coming.
Unable to keep from chuckling, the brownweyrling grinned in reply, cutting off more meat for his dragon. “I can understand. It’s not exactly the easiest emotion to put into words. In fact, I really don’t think I could explain it to anyone else who hadn’t Impressed.” Amber gaze wandering over Calzanth, who had his tail curled around his ankle, the ex-beastcrafter smiled. “It’s amazing, though, I agree. I never imagined it would be like this.” Slicing off even more meat, he laughed again, this time pride shining through as he spoke about his brown. Now, K’ron was not an arrogant person, but when it came to his dragon, there was nothing else on Pern he was more proud of. “Thank you. He does look great, doesn’t he? I can’t really believe how big he is, actually. H’seo said he’s more the size of a bronze hatchling.” Suddenly aware that he had been rambling about Calzanth, the boy closed his mouth, shooting K’vin a sheepish grin.
Perking up as Toll began his game, Yumi glanced over at Herboy and Herbrown before joining him in the air, deciding that they would be fine without her for a bit. Chirping playfully, the sage green darted up, zipping under the cutebrown to tap him with her tail teasingly. Crooning, she then circled about him, ready for the game. It was fun!
Rumbling lowly, the two-tone brown turned away from his meal for a moment to watch his green sister as she replied. She was his favorite clutchsibling, after all, the only one he felt connected to. I'm glad to see you, Asileth. He said evenly, rather amused at her enthusiastic reply. Carefully, he answered each question she posed. Good, is how I am, ready to begin lessons. And hungry enough to eat a whole herdbeast, which K’ronMine is good enough to cut for me. Chuckling, the large brown swiveled his wedge-shaped head back towards his bonded, taking another piece of meat in his hungry jowls. That is good, sister. It would not do for SisterMine to be hungry.
Chuckling, slightly rolling his eyes, K’ron nodded his understanding. “I know, it’s the same with Calzanth here. He doesn’t like girls, but he likes Asileth. I didn’t know she felt the same way, though. She’s his favorite sister.” Smiling back at the other weyrling, the boy added, “Not that I mind. I’m glad he likes your green so much. That way we can spend more time together.”
