Past RP Experience:See Gillen please, I'm a lazybum.
Character:
Name:Adelle
Age:Nineteen Turns
Gender:Female
Sexual Orientation:Hetersexual
Occupation:Candidate
Description:Not very large and intimidating on sight, her petite frame is fairly well toned underneath the innocent and child like exterior. Adelle out grew her growing years by not growing at all, and her lack of height is a rather sensitive subject to the Trader girl. She also doesn't seem to be very filled out, as many girls of her age have already grown into their womanly curves, while she retains the body of a older child. From the back she could easily be mistaken as a small and somewhat scrawny boy if it wasn't for the lengthy dark auburn hair that fell in large waves down to her waist. Unless said boy had curiously long and painstakingly maintained hair, that he was extremely proud of and would break someone's hand if they touched.
With slightly wide set blue eyes of no extraordinary shade, a plain nose, and a thicker bottom lip, Adelle's face gives people the impression that they are looking at a naïve Trader girl, sheltered from all things big and bad on Pern. Especially since her face is usually plastered with a tiny somewhat dimwitted looking grin, she appears like a silly little girl with no idea what is going on. The fact that she also likes to wear dainty little tunics in light colors or heavily frilled dresses that really shouldn't be worn by someone of her age doesn't help her image at all. Despite dressing like a baby and flouncing around like some large out of place child, the young woman still manages to give off an air of antagonism.
Despite being lighter in skin tone then most of her relatives she has a yellowish tinge to her skin that turns a golden brown when exposed to excessive sun and thus she is typically that brown color except perhaps in the rainy seasons where Rukbat is hidden more often.
Personality:Adelle is a bit rough around the edges, to say in the least. She lives in the now, with all her might focused on the happenings around her at the exact time. The dealings of the future and consequences all seem so far away that neither effect her actions very much and thus she is known to be quite rash, while it would appear the phrase 'think before you act' has never seemingly graced her ears. Adelle is rather playful in nature, however sometimes what she deems as gentle teasing is actually hurtful and rather demeaning. In all honesty she doesn't mean it that way, it's just that she simply doesn't know the harm she deals until after wards.
Quick to judge and label people in her very own mental categories, she uses first impressions as lasting opinions on people and once she has placed someone into a certain area in her mind, it is very hard to move them due to her innate stubbornness. Having somewhat of a superiority complex, she rarely admits that she is wrong. In fact, getting a sincere apology from her is like trying to pry Thread from the ground with your bare hands. As judgmental as she is Adelle isn't quite as antisocial as she appears, as she actually rather prefers the company of anyone, even the most annoying little weyrbrat than being alone. With loneliness as her biggest fear, it's like an open invitation for trouble.
Honestly kind and somewhat ruthless, Adelle appears to be a package of contradictions as she'll say one thing and do another. Not so much fickle as careless in her actions and words, in a game of intrigue she'd probably be the one to win by walking over to the other person and knocking them out with a hefty punch to the nose. Armed with an unconventional sense of right and wrong and a personal vendetta against those who she perceives to cause harm to animals and most other living things ( excluding plants, she's basically practices vegetation abuse and avoidance) Adelle isn't the easiest person to get along with at first, as it takes time to assimilate oneself to her behavior.
History:A typical Trader girl that ran with the caravans through her life, she grew up immersed and loving the free life style where rules only go as far as the trading deadlines and destinations. However the story of her origin has always been surrounded by nasty rumors and wide speculation. With features that simply simply didn't resemble either of her relatives, parents, or siblings it was always underlying gossip that her mother had laid with some Hold bred rouge on one of their stops, conceived and played it off as if her husband had been the father. That would explain why her elder sister and younger brother resembled the family, while she was blue eyed where everyone had brown, had light hair while others had dark brown, and was petite while they were heavier set and more solid. What made things more interesting was that her mother was said to never deny this fact and simply chose to ignore and not reply when the subject was brought up. However the truth was never revealed as the woman passed away in childbirth of Adelle's younger brother, taking the secret to the grave with her.
As many of the adults speculated but kept their opinions to their own private conversations, it was obvious their discontent with the child was present as their children with their eavesdropping ears treated Adelle in the way their parents really felt. Not so much as out casted as ignored and avoided as a young child, her early years were filled with running between the herdbeast's legs and making more ruckus by picking fights with the other children. She gained the attention she lacked, and she enjoyed it, even if her family was only paying attention to scold or lecture her.
It was only later when she met Gillen in her eight turn that she really opened up and had fun. As unlikely as it was that the most loved little boy in the caravan would befriend the loneliest girl they were instant friends after a rather odd event. Everyone in the caravan knew everyone else, and most were quite tight knit, however there were still disputes and arguments every now and then and just because they were children didn't mean they were excluded from all the drama. Gillen had been cornered behind a wagon on one of their rest stops by a larger and older boy. Tomar was simply trying to defend his younger sister's honor as he had been taught, as the girl had come running to him crying that some boy had put his lips on hers. One innocent peck had turned Gillen into a fugitive among the children, running and hiding in an assortment of different shady areas around the caravan. He couldn't run to the adults as he typically did, as they fell for his sweet talking and batting long eyelashes, but if they learned that he had done what he had done, they would've probably layered on more chores to him.
Adelle had run into the pair in this predicament and saw what she perceived as a bigger guy picking on the smaller underdog. Her sense of justice completely enraged she threw herself a Tomar and pummeled the boys face in without thinking of the consequences. She had saved Gillen from extra chores and a long winded lecture. Thus they were instant friends for life.
As she grew up, most of the antagonism from the Traders faded as most drama tended to in the caravan. Her later years were nothing but good times with a best friend that was always there for her, as fun times spent with someone else was always better then by oneself.
Fun Facts:Adores anything pretty and shiny to the point sometimes Gillen has trouble holding her back from touching someone else's things.
