Who: Keiko (OPEN) What: Arriving at the weyr, getting lunch When: Midday, during lunch Where: Great Hall Warnings: Keiko is really, really flirty and quirky. XD
~~~~~
When the dragon burst from between the girl let out a gasp and finally opened her eyes, clinging to the squirming bundle in her arms tightly. Ugh, what a miserable place! Cold and black and totally not awesome. She couldn’t even feel the dragon beneath her, or the rider’s arm that held her firmly in place. Yea, that was soooo going to take some getting used to. Of course, if she could get a pretty green beauty like this outta the deal, it would be worth it! The blanket-wrapped canine in her arms gave a protesting whine, and Keiko abruptly loosened her grip, gasping again. “Oh I’m sorry, Jazz! Did I hurt you baby?” The girl cooed, though her voice was stolen away by the force of the wind. Ugh, ok, right. Best wait until they finally landed.
The green backwinged as they neared the ground, landing lithely and expertly upon the cliffside near the hatching sands. “Wow, you’re so amazing, greenie-babe!” Keiko chirped, jumping down before the rider could even try to help her. Of course, the dragoness preened under the praise, taking a moment to pose before giving a draconic grin. Take care, girlie. The green said, surprising her rider and causing Keiko to giggle in delight. Her black canine, finally free of that blanket she had wrapped around him before betweening, trotted to the edge of the cliff and looked down, barking at some of the people he saw beneath him. Whoa, that was far! “What is it, Jazz-man?” The girl asked, jogging over and mimicking her pet. “Whoa, Faranth, that would be one nassss-tee fall, that.” She said in a sing-song voice, then hopped back a few steps.
Her bags were still on the ground where the rider had dropped them, and Keiko sighed, putting her hands on her hips. “Like, wow, I have to carry all this by myself? What a drag!” The candidate pouted, glancing around for some help. Nope, there was none. Nothing for it then, huh? Reaching down, the girl grabbed the three bags and practically drug them to the candidate barracks, only knowing where to go because of the rider. Yea, she was used to Benden, not this place, but hey, didn’t all weyrs look the same? Well, inside anyway. This place was way cooler and sooooooo much prettier than Benden was on it’s best day! Totally. Finding an empty room on the chick’s side, Keiko dumped all the stuff on the cot and left, deciding she’d put it all away later. She had better stuff to do right now, like eat! Faranth, she was starving! Especially after all that work, like seriously!
“Come oooooon, Jazz!” She called, running out of the barracks with the black canine on her heels. Ok, so like, the weyrhall would be….? Shoving her hands against her hips again, the candidate scowled. “This like, seriously isn’t Benden.” She said, grey eyes glancing around. Not that Benden was any better, she just knew where everything was there. She had no desire to ever go back there again! Stupid weyr, stupid bronzerider. Whatever. “Right!” Keiko suddenly chirped, whirling to face her pretty puppy. “Jazzy, use that sweet sniffer of yours and find us the weyrhall! I’m totally starved!” Barking, the black canine did just that, stalking forward all sashays and hip sways. The girl matched Jazzy stride for stride, and soon enough, they were in the weyrhall, Kei grabbing some food while the canine waited near the entrance. Pausing, the candidate swept straight over to a table and sat, grinning at the inhabitant in a friendly, flirty manner. “Hey!” She chirped, glancing over as Jazz danced on over and sat near her, patiently waiting for some food. “I’m Keiko, and this is Jazzy. We just got here, like, a second ago.” She laughed, winking. “But that’s already old news. What I wanna know is who you are!”
A break was desperately needed by mid-morning, and the smell of fresh heavy stew came floating by not too much later. Deciding it was a sign-as Dysiiliouth rumbled on his ledge in amusement, V’ton gave up on the reports and issues stacked at his desk and rose to stretch. “Hey. It’s not like I’m eating too much…” he rejoined to the bronzes’ amusement, with an easy smile. But they both knew that since a new Head had arrived, V’ton had started to eat more often than not, when before he’d habitually missed a meal here and there. The food was too good to pass up though, now, and he quickly followed his nose down to the caverns.
Cajolling the servers for a hearty bowl of stew and a loaf of fresh, light bread, V’ton eyed the pastries being made, sweet scent testing his resistance, and the fresh cut fruit on a side board, debating. One of the cooks laughed at him, and gave him a shove towards the table. “G’wan with you! You can always come back for more after you finish that, young man!” Laughing, V’ton agreeably headed towards the tables, making a note that he definitely wanted to eat dinner tonight from the look of the birds being plucked.
Sitting down at a table not too far from the door or the cooks, in case he decided he did want to liberate a few more rolls or some of that fruit-jam they had going, the bronze rider blew a puff of air up to move hair from his eyes, and grinned slightly. Early enough that not too many people were about yet, and despite the trauma of Trith’s recent flight, he wasn’t on duty right now, and thus, was able to relax, for the first time in a while. A small smile tugged V’tons’s lips as he nibbled on the fresh, crusty bread, enjoying the flavor, before dipping it into the rich, meaty stew.
The food here, while good at other places, was lovely, and he preferred to time it so it was just finished whenever he was able-which his beloved Dysiiliouth often helped with, since the dragon often was merged enough to enjoy things, and V’ton had a habit of taking bits of food to the dragon to try. A soft moan, under his breath but there never-the-less passed the Wing Leader’s lips at the taste of both together, and he melted somewhat. Good food was a weakness, and the new Head they had in the caverns made some of it to die for….
A rustle of noise alerted him that he wasn’t alone in that self-same instant, and V’ton blushed at being caught enjoying his lunch so much, especially in front of… a candidate? She must be. Swallowing, V’ton grinned, even as the flush faded, and let his gaze travel over Keiko, then over her canine, with a welcoming wave of his free hand. She was rather cute, he noted, and bright and cheerful-good things to be, though the seemingly flightyness made him a bit curious. “Welcome! Keiko, was it? Wing Leader V’ton of bronze Dysiiliouth. Welcome to Cerulean! You’re one of the new candidates? Where did they find such a bright thing as you?”
Ok, so he was flirting somewhat, but she was cute, and a wonderful distraction from the darker thoughts which had plagued him recently. Besides, there was no harm, until the clutch was hatched, anyways. And she had started. Dysiiliouth’s amusement rumbled in his mind as V’ton took another bite, careful to restrain his reaction this time, before he glanced to Jazzy, then offered her a chunk of meat fished from his bowl. He had a weakness for animals that was well known in the Weyr, and Keiko may as well learn that.
Brow arching slightly, Keiko couldn't help but grin at the red that dusted the bronzerider's cheeks, obviously a bit embarrassed at being caught. The candidate wasn't about to blame him, however, since she was pretty fond of food herself. Lips curving, she winked again, a little flutter of delight dancing down her spine at his words. Oh my, this would be fun. "Well, it's a pleasure to meet you, V'ton of Dysiiliouth." She chirped, resting her chin in her hand. "It seems the Wingleaders down here have much better manners than the ones in Benden, that's waaay certain." Kei grinned, grey eyes dancing over him quickly. He was undoubtedly handsome, but most bronzers were. But! This one seemed playful enough, and that made her look forward to finding out more about him.
Glancing over at her canine, the candidate was about to pull off some of her meatroll until the wingleader beat her to it, Jazzy's ears perking forward towards the offering. "Go ahead, Jazz-man." Keiko laughed, liking the bronzerider even more. If he had a soft spot for pets, that was even better. Barking, the black canine trotted around the table and plucked the meat from V'ton's hand, gulping it down in one swallow. Tail swaying, Jazzy stared intently at the man, frosty blue eyes clearly asking for more.
Smiling at her pet, Keiko switched her gaze back to the bronzerider, remembering that he had asked her more questions. "Oh, yea, I'm a transfer candidate." She supplied, brows furrowing slightly as she considered his next query. Pursing her lips, the girl shook her head, grinning slightly mischievously at her new companion. "Well, they didn't so much find me as I got, like, shoved off on Cerulean." She laughed, shrugging carelessly. "I mean, I totally didn't do anything that bad, but this real jerk of a wingleader sent me down here to 'learn my lesson' or whatever. He's the one that knocked over my bucket when I was mopping the weyrhall. So not my fault." Snorting a bit, Keiko then quickly brightened, attention switching to something utterly different.
"So, since I'm new and all, I could seriously use a tour of the Weyr." She grinned, tapping her bottom lip with her forefinger. As she did, her nail was clearly visible, showing off the electric blue polish and little glittery flower she had drawn on it. Blinking coquettishly, Keiko quirked a reddened brow, lips curving smoothly. "Unless you're like, too busy and stuff. I could totally understand that, mister big important wingleader." The candidate grinned, clearly teasing and obviously flirting. She had started it, but he had continued it, which meant she was free to do so. "Ooh, and maybe even meet your bronze, if he would let me. I like, love dragons." Kei had quite the flighty attention span, as he would soon learn, if he didn't get tired of her first.
Seeing the younger girl grin like tha, V’ton knew he’d been caught out, and gave it up as a lost cause, allowing a satisfied smile at the food to stay on his lips, even as he chewed another bite while listening. A glint of teasing lingered in the suddenly bright green eyes, even as V’ton laughed mentally at her bright, happy flirting. Such a welcome change from some of the more shy and retiring girls here! “Well, I’m glad to be so welcome a change for you, M’lady Keiko.” The slurred grin emphasized and made gentle fun of the title, while still flattering, as he finished off the bread, and found himself giving in to a pair of pleading blue eyes.
“Oh, all right, you shameless furball.” V’ton chuckled, and set down the bowl with the remains of his stew for the dog, sufficiently full anyways, and he’d left most of the meat in there, too. “Go ahead-Jazzy, was it? Eat up. We do manage to have good and enough food here, thankfully.” Not that he’d ever let an animal go hungry-a rule he’d always been unable to sacrifice-especially companions which relied on their human partners. “He’s quite the beautiful canine-where did you get him?”
Curious, V’ton found himself diverted at the girls story, before snickering into the table, before glancing back up with yet another smile. “Well. It sounds as if they need someone to whip their riders into shape, then. After all, if he couldn’t stand a harmless, innocent little bucket…” Certain there was more to the story, V’ton let it slip, assuming he’d find out the rest later, anyways-especially if she Impressed-more so if she was sent to his wing, too. “Well, their loss is our gain, and despite certain…issues, with the last flight of the Queen Trith, our only queen right now, there will be a decent clutch soon. So obviously, your gain as well.”
An inviting smile lingered on V’ton’s lips as he sipped the klah, aware of how caught up he was in the girl’s exuberance, but not minding in the least. Paperwork held little candle to spending time actually exploring. And you think she’s pretty. Hiding a flush at the thought in his head, the wing leader cleared his throat hastily, and stretched briefly. “Well! If it’s a tour you’d like, lovely lady, then as a gentleman and Wing Leader it is my Duty,” capitals and all, “despite how important my work is.” (read: not at all) “To escort you lest you lose your way. And quite the pleasure too.” Laughter was rich in his voice as he studied Keiko, feeling far more at ease and less in the mode of Wing Leader than just another rider, despite the allusions.
shards, but she switched about quickly, like the strange little … what were they called? Some earth pollenater that didn’t exist here with brightly painted wings… ah! Butterflies. Yes, she was like those, indeed. Smirking faintly, the young man shook his head. “Well, that might be possible to arrange… Dysiiliouth is usually willing.” V’ton took a sip of his drink as he reached to the bronze, ~Aren’t you, Dys? She’s quite the character.~ A faint hint of amusement was V’tons’ only warning before he choked on his drink, coughing quickly. Well, given how much you like her, I suppose. You should smile more. Trith will heal, and there will be other flights.
Grinning mischievously at the title he placed before her name, the girl secretly thought she wasn’t much of a lady at all, but she wasn’t about to say that. Instead, she found herself laughing, watching the bronzerider surrender to her pet’s imploring gaze. Keiko smiled at the wingleader before her, pleased that he was so kind to animals. That really earned him several points in her book. Jazzy, too, was quickly won over, eyes brightening at the offering that was suddenly set before him. Tongue lolling, the canine’s tail went into hyperactive mode as he shoved his nose into the bowl, lapping at the juices and gulping the meat down greedily. Ahhh, now that was better, especially for a huge guy like him. The black canine was a big boy, after all, and he possibly ate even more than his mistress.
Giggling slightly, Keiko winked at her companion, jerking her thumb towards the canine. “He is waaaay too good at getting his way.” The candidate laughed, watching her pet devour the rest of the bronzerider’s lunch. Lips curving at V’ton’s next query, the trader nodded. “Yea, his name is Jazzy, but I call him Jazz a lot. I bought him three turns ago from a breeder in Benden Hold, with some marks I made selling paintings.” Of course, her dad had been a jerk about it, just like he had with everything else in her life, but she didn’t care. Jazzy was her baby, and he probably loved her more than anyone else in her life.
Snorting, the candidate rolled her eyes at the man’s words, the impolite gesture clearly aimed toward Benden’s riders. “They totally need to lighten up there, let me tell you. They are like, way too uptight.” Keiko snapped, then abruptly laughed, grinning playfully at the wingleader. “Besides, I didn’t see a single rider up there that could hope to compare to you, so you guys totally have to be doing something right.” Lips curved, the candidate gazed at the bronzerider, her eyes dancing and just daring him to return her wicked banter. Still smiling, Keiko winked at her companion, rather delighted with his words. Ohh, he was a playboy. “I don’t think those eggs are the only thing I like more about Cerulean, but I’m totally excited, trust me.”
She liked that smile. With a smile of her own, Keiko listened intently to his reply, secretly hoping he would escort her to some of the more…private places of Cerulean. “Trust me, the pleasure is totally all mine.” She laughed again, unashamed in her bright flirtations. The candidate wasn’t an innocent girl, and she knew this game well, but she also wasn’t a dark, sultry soul. If you wanted that, you were looking at the wrong person. Keiko was, however, a happy, annoyingly cheerful flirt, one that would make you smile even as she was hoping to crawl into your furs. “I’m just seriously too lucky to have met such a chivalrous wingleader, to personally show me around.” She chirped, standing and stretching herself, showing off her skinny build. Some people said she was too thin, but it wasn’t her fault. She had been born dainty.
Blinking, the girl smiled hugely then, clasping her hands. “Really? Oh wow, that’s totally amazing!” She laughed, excited at the prospect of meeting his bronze. Although…hmm. She hoped his dragon wasn’t the only one that was usually ‘willing.’ “So, where are we going first?” Keiko asked, her attention jumping around as usual. She was worse than a hyperactive gerbil, and an easily distracted one at that. “The South looks so completely beautiful, I can’t wait to see more.” The candidate sighed, her grey eyes growing distant for a moment. The bell on her ankle clinked softly as she moved around the table, holding out her arm to V’ton with a wink and a grin. “I’m yours for the evening.” In more ways than one, if he would like.
Laughing slightly, V’ton stretched, arms raising to the ceiling, before leaning down to remove the now-empty bowl from beneath Jazzy. Straightening, he blinked, then grinned at the girl before him, eyes dancing slightly. “Well. You’ll just have to forgive me being from Benden, after all, I did leave that behind.” Wrinkling his nose playfully, the rider moved away quickly to hand off their dirtied serving-ware to the drudges for cleaning, and had a whispered conversation with one. A secretive smile flittered over his lips as he strode back, pausing to gently ruffle Jazzy’s ears and neck-ruff. “However, Bendenite or not, I have to agree about your boy here, you must have taught him that pleading look, it’s quite effective.”
Arching an eyebrow at the mention of paintings, he grinned. “I’d like to see some of your work, if you don’t mind, sometime. I can’t paint or draw myself, but…” He still definitely enjoyed it. Smiling back at the canine, he shook his head. “I used to want to own a canine, actually, but.. Dysiiliouth changed my life. For the better, but… “ he shrugged one shoulder. “Dragons, especially hatchlings, take a lot of care, and I’ve never regretted it. Still, I don’t think you’ll have to worry since Jazzy is an adult. And I, personally, wanted a puppy.” He grinned, playfully.
“And their being uptight was why I left, “ he added, smiling somewhat. “I wanted to actually have a chance at being a Wing Leader, and too many bronzers there who were all for being older means better, no trust in new blood! Well, Cerulean at least is a great place for opening doors. And I’d hope more than the eggs caught your attention!” He rejoined, offering a hand to Keiko so that they could leave. If she was getting at what he suspected, he was rather tempted to take her up on it-and she hardly seemed innocent. Fresh, yes, and with a love of life that was almost addictive. He’d have to spend more time about her either way, he decided, then. Having someone to laugh with would be a nice change.
~Indeed.~ The bronzes’ rumble in his head made V’ton pause. ~I have been somewhat buried, haven’t I?~ V’ton sent back, with an apologetic tone. Wordless reassurance and mirth came back, even as he felt Dysiiliouth stretching on the ledge he’d been draped over. “Well. I don’t know what you have or haven’t seen, or would like to, so you’ll just have to enlighten me. However, if you or Jazzy like swimming…” He trailed off, eyes sparkling. “Dysiiliouth and I both love a somewhat private cove, and a pod of dolphins often comes in to play there. We could go there after your tour, if you’d like.” At the look in Keiko’s eyes, though, V ‘ton was secretly hoping and plotting, to himself, if they did end up there. He couldn't stop the roving gaze, approving of her rather trim figure, and hid a faint flush as he chuckled. “He’s shameless that way, I’m sure he’d be just as thrilled.” He replied, linking his own arm with the arm offered. “And if you’re mine for the evening…” He trailed off, eyes dark with a hint of promise, “Then I definitely suggest the cove. They wont get you assigned to chores and the like today, I’m sure. And I do know how to roast some fish.” He offered. “If you like it, that is…?”
Grinning, Keiko shook her head as her dancing gaze switched from Jazzy back to the man seated across from her, one red eyebrow lifting slightly. “Seriously, a catch like you came from Benden? No wonder it sucks there; all the real men leave.” Laughing brightly, the candidate winked at her companion mischievously, her lips curved and a playful glint in her eyes. Watching as the bronzerider stood and cleared the dishes, the girl tilted her head slightly to the side, wondering what he was whispering about. With a low whine, Jazzy moved closer as the man ruffled his fur, tongue lolling as he enjoyed the attention for a moment. Icy blue eyes sliding closed, the canine’s tail began to sway slowly over the floor, an obvious sign of his pleasure. Laughing again, watching her pet practically turn to goo for the Wingleader, Keiko shook her head. “Not me.” She defended playfully, grinning. “That’s totally all Jazzy. He, like, had that talent allllll on his own.”
Shrugging a bit carelessly, the candidate smiled again at her delightful companion, grey eyes flashing with mirth. “I’d be happy to show you what I can do.” She replied, a bright little laugh following her words. “In fact, if your bronze wouldn’t mind to sit still long enough, I’d totally love to do a sketch of him. I’m sure he’s just as handsome as his rider.” Glancing down at Jazzy, Keiko smiled fondly, watching the canine with a warm light in her gaze. “I’ve never regretted buying my baby here.” The candidate cooed, the black canine lifting one ear at the sound. Head turning, Jazzy locked eyes with his girl and allowed his tail to go into overdrive, whipping back and forth as he caught the affectionate expression and her warm voice. Bounding back over to her side of the table, the large canine laid his head on his mistress’s knee, closing his eyes as she rubbed his scruff. “He’s been my best friend for three turns, haven’t you baby?” The girl said softly, still petting him gently.
Grinning at the bronzerider, Keiko winked again, standing to take the proffered hand. “Well, it was so lucky for me you did. Besides, I totally doubt half of those old sticks in the mud could keep up with someone as fit as you.” Yes, she was flirting, quite openly and shamelessly at that, but the candidate was by no means an innocent girl, and she had already had her fair share of one night stands and secret trysts. There wasn’t much she didn’t know about when it came to the bedroom. Yet, on the same hand, Keiko wasn’t your typical playmate. The candidate was more than happy to crawl into the furs of a handsome man, or a beautiful girl’s, but she also wanted to laugh and have fun, to see them smile and lose themselves once in a while. A little rendezvous was no fun if it stopped at physical pleasure. “And it’s, like, awesome that you have a chance to shine here. Life is totally a drag unless you make the most of it.”
Oh. She knew what he was getting at. Feeling her lips curve, the girl sidled closer, feeling ridiculously short next to the tall Wingleader. “We totally love to swim.” She assured him, a conspiratorial look dancing in her grey eyes. With a grin, she tapped her index finger against his wrist from where she had taken his hand. “And a private cove sounds so amazing. I would love to see it!” This was genuine excitement from the girl, not just for what he was insinuating. The South seemed absolutely beautiful, and she leapt at a chance to see more of it. At his mention of dolphins, however, Keiko’s attention suddenly made a one-eighty, and all appearances of coquettish flirting disappeared in a snap. “Dolphins, like, really?” She breathed, eyes widening with awe. “I’ve totally always wanted to see some up close!” She gushed, grinning at the thought.
As V’ton mentioned his dragon again, the candidate abruptly forced her focus back on the bronzerider, her attention switching from one thing to the next without any real dedication. She had the worst attention span outside of a green dragon. “Oh trust me, I’m totally yours.” Keiko promised with a mischievous little smile, winking to make her point. “And so the cove sounds totally heavenly. And I’m, like, way sure that Jazzy would love some fish later.” Walking beside the Wingleader, the girl suddenly paused, eyes widening. “Oh hey!” She abruptly laughed, grinning as she gazed up at her companion with a bright expression. “If you, like, want to wait a sec, I can grab my sketchbook and do a picture of your bronze while we are at the beach. Think he’d like that?” Keiko asked, eyes alight with happiness at the thought.
Shaking his head at the girl, V’ton lead her with a grin towards the Weyr, pointing out the places of note as they passed. Her chatter was soothing, and uplifting, and the grin on his lips just flat out refused to die. Deciding not to let it bother him, and aware of his bronzes’ approval in the back of his head, he smirked faintly. “I’d have to say that all the wonderful women leave as well-after all, you’re here aren’t you?” He teased, taking the moment to brush a lock of Keiko’s hair back, before walking on as if nothing had occurred… Though he kept his arm linked with hers. “Well, I’m sure I’ll find out for myself whether or not he taught you or vice versa then.” He certainly, most definitely, intended to. It had been some time since he’d bothered to dally with a woman, and longer still since one had held his attention as she did. He was all too aware of Keikos’ …. –earthy- charms, and the nature that seemed to go hand in hand. Honestly? He found himself being drawn in further by that than he’d expected.
~That’s because she’s not some quick tumble you’ll never see again. She’s one you want to be friends with too. Maybe more. I like her.~ Startled again at Dysiiliouth’s meddling in his affairs, V’ton could only shake his head, and focus back on Keiko. While having the bronze approve of her helped, he didn’t want to admit quite yet that Dys was right-either. Though he doubted he’d not try to find her again, just for the sheer joy of life, if spastic attention span, she had. Hearing off the offers she made, he couldn’t help but grin. “Dysiiliouth would love that as much as I would. He never turns down the attention of a pretty young female, especially not one who can draw or paint him!” Laughing slightly, and obviously teasing his dragon, V’ton nodded, though. “In all seriousness, though, I would love to see that, and some of your other art.” He tallied mentally the costs of purchasing such a piece, guessing that while she’d not let him pay for it, she’d not turn down a gift.
And if that gift just so happened to be something of similar value? Well, it wasn’t as if he wasn’t considerate-or slightly romantic. “We can take Jazzy if you’d like? Dysiiliouth won’t mind, and it’s not like it’s an onerous burden for him. Besides, if he’s that loyal to you, he deserves a treat as much as you!” And himself, he felt, though Keiko had certainly offered first. Besides, the very fact that he –could- converse with her made this all the better, as he’d come to dislike the brainless women who saw a bronze and went all gooey-eyed over him. Someone with sense-of a sort-and dreams of her own? Oh, that might be what snared him when all else failed, though. That, and the sheer joy of life. He desperately hoped that she held onto that, through her candidacy, hopeful Impression, and beyond. Already he had a sense he knew why she’d been Searched originally-and was grateful that whatever events occurred, they had sent her here. “I’ve certainly made the most of it, and I have little doubt you can too.” Grinning, he turned his attention back towards the conversation. “If you’d like, later this sevenday, I can also show you around the markets and the like.” He offered, wondering how well she’d receive an invitation to spend more time with him-one totally independent of any bed-games which might or might not happen. He had surprised himself, too, with the offer, but it felt right. And if he only wanted a bedmate, there were plenty of other options. No, she was more than that, he hoped-though he’d not say no later. Then, though, the seemingly stern Wing Leader couldn’t help a laugh.
“Yes, dolphins. The local pod is very helpful and friendly. You might even get to see one of the new-born calves, if we’re lucky. I often take time to visit them, when I need to get away from the Weyr or my duties for a time.” Leading her up to the barracks, he waited with a grin as the sound of a dragon approaching was clear. “Go ahead and grab your sketch book, Dysiiliouth will be here in a moment.” He added, a faint smirk tugging his lips as he spotted a drudge running up with the basket he’d asked for, behind Keiko’s back. Overhead, Dysiiliouth arced playfully, before picking a spot to land where he’d not shower them both with dust and debris, carefully settling into a crouch as he waited. Eyes whirling blue and green, he sent a trill of hope and the memory of swimming to his bonded, head tilted as he studied Keiko and Jazzy.
