Weyrling Growth, Developmental Charts and Information
General Daily Schedule for the first 3-4 Months- [/u]
MORNING:
• Wake just after dawn. Bathe, oil, feed hatchling. Hatchlings to bed.
• Weyrlings breakfast and personal time for 1 candlemark.
• Class usually for a few candlemarks
• Chores
AFTERNOON:
• Lunch - Hatchling first, then Weyrling
• Chores.
• Candlemark or two break to spend with Hatchlings.
• Class again for a few candlemarks until dinner
EVENING:
• Dinner - Hatchling first, then Weyrling
• Personal time (friends, craft, etc)
• Bed - Lights Out Curfew!
--As the dragons mature, they will sleep less and be active more, coming with the Weyrlings to class around the 3rd or 4th month and learning from the Weyrling Master's dragon most likely in the Flight Grounds.
--The pair will learn to fly together beginning in the 6th month.
--Weyrlings are prohibited from having intercourse until their dragons are at least 12 months old. The emotions that the hatchling would feel might very well traumatize it, and or injure it on a mental level. Babies are not meant to understand and experience sex, neither should a baby dragon.
Monthly growth
Mucking
Until the dragons are old enough to fly and can between, they cannot dispose of their wastes like older dragons. Weyrlings get to shovel the muck their dragons create until then. This includes cleaning the wallows where the dragons rest.
Oiling
Dragons will need to be bathed often to keep them clean. A dragon also needs to be oiled regularly and frequently. Dragons grow quickly the first few months, and their hide will constantly stretch with them, causing itching. If they are not oiled, it can crack or grow patchy. This can cause problems, especially later for going between. The intense cold could get into those cracks or patches and hurt terribly, or even kill the dragon. Generally after a bath, a dragon should be oiled - at the minimum any stretched or itchy areas should be handled immediately.
