So, Thorne and I were joking around about Medieval Pern(*snickers*) and two of the places she listed made me think of high school names instead. And then we got the simultaneous horror of a thought of an AU DRoP in high school. And laughed. And then joked about bronzeriders being the football players, brownriders playing the other not as celebrated sports, blueriders being the geekier kids, greenriders as cheerleaders, and goldriders as homecoming queens. And laughed harder.
To make it worse, we decided to try to figure out what stereotypes our characters would fit. Here is the mind-horror that ensued:
- C’ko: someone's annoying little brother/cousin/neighbor that isn't actually supposed to be at the school. Probably goes to the school down the street and pops over to cause mayhem. The instructors can't punish him 'cause he's not a student.
- Dastan: that guy that doesn't actually play a sport, but still hangs out with the "popular crowd" and has a different girl under each arm. Always.
- F’ren: definitely a football player. Popular, possibly captain of the Junior Varsity team. Or newly promoted to the Varsity team with sights set on being captain by graduation.
- H’seo: member of the FFA(Future Farmers of America).
- K'roi: football captain. Elected, not volunteered. Coach won’t LET him step down.
- K’ron: that kid who has like a bajillion pets and always wanted to be a vet or trainer. Or the farm kid who's all in the know when someone finds a hurt bird in front of the library. Dogs just *find* him, and he hasn't had to pay for a single pet he's got. The big, tall, quiet one, that people find either relaxing or intimidating, thought he doesn't really try for the latter.
- K’vin: track team. Probably in a medical club/class like H.O.S.A.(Health Occupations Students of America). People love him 'cause he's adorable and sort of tend to 'adopt' him as a little brother sort.
- L'cin: pottery club member; shy soccer player.
- L’mar: the class clown, whom it's safer to assume has detention every afternoon.
- Lialla: a nerd. Socially awkward, and always tired from being up on the computer way too late. She's that one mousy girl that people think is ‘cute,’ but not in that way.
- M’ma: the teacher that everybody loves. Even the 'tough guys' who think he's wishy-washy, they secretly go to him for advice. And M'ma always has a hanky around for a crying student.
- Meta: one of the guys. She's the girl who excels at sports, and maybe won out with the county to put her on the boy's rugby team.
- Miko: drama kid. But instead of one of the actors, he's the head of the stage crew. He doesn't have to be up front, but still pulls all the strings. Possibly the student stage director.
- Mira: drama kid – the kind that get a ‘reputation.’
- Naoko: the quiet girl who always has her nose in a book. Not shy, just doesn't talk much; kinda driven into study. Or a science teacher.
- Raelwyn: the pretty popular girl that no one can hate because she's honestly very sweet.
- Rozen: that tough chick on the fencing team that guys would never cross because she'd cut their manhoods off.
- S’lain: the sciency kid who always got good grades but everyone liked anyway.
- S'ren: that one kid that everybody seems to know and most people like, and you can't seem to figure out WHY.
- Tess: the overworked infirmary nurse that had to deal with constantly-faked headaches and stomachaches.
- Toven: the buzz-cut gym teacher that makes you run through tires.
- U’ar: the government teacher. With the mysterious, tragic past. That the students spin all sorts of tales about.
- V'taph: that scary school security guard.
- V’ton: part of JROTC. He's popular and flirty out of it, but in that class/club/thing people think he's kinda a dick.
- Valee: meticulous, mature, strong willed Salutatorian; not enough ambition to be Valedictorian.
- Zanalorin: the gay guy all the chicks want and the male population flees in terror from. Rawr.
We didn’t get to finish the rest of them, but I’m up for trying tomorrow. XD Characters left: Batavia, R’nen, R’tel, and V’mio. Samhara is an NPC(if no one had guessed), but we could try her too. I honestly don’t have enough of a feel of Aidaen, Relian, or Synchella to get them yet. AND SAVARENIEL ISN’T DONE LOTHY SO HUSH. XDDD *giggles*
