Gold CandidateCharacter name: Raelwyn
Character age: 17
Have you played Gold before? Yes
Are you confident that you could meet the required deadlines for clutchings, touchings, hatchings and Flights? Yes! I understand the need to be on time with these things, and will do what I need to in order to get them finished when they need to be. I have finished a Flight within two days before, and kept the rest of the schedule for the clutching/touching/hatching exactly as it was written down.
Are you alright with the Admins having some part in assigning who receives what of your clutch, and designating how many eggs are laid? Of course. :3 This is your site after all.
Are you comfortable and ready to read all candidate profiles to assure a good match?Yes!!!!!! Actually, I think that is the most amusing part of a hatching—besides making awesome babies, that is. I have a lot of fun matching babies up with their riders.
What would having a Gold mean to your character, and why do they deserve it?We all know how Raelwyn is. :3 She is completely in love with all things draconic. For what it would mean to her, Rael has been a candidate for four turns now. She is starting to wonder if she will ever Impress at all, and is also starting to wonder if she is even worthy to do so. It would mean much to her if she suddenly realized that not only was she worthy to Impress, but she was worthy of a gold. It would literally mean everything to her. As to why she deserves it…well, I’m really hoping she has earned the right to be considered for the gold. Raelwyn transferred to Cerulean immediately upon hearing what happened at Silver Cove, because she wanted to help them all she could. She does have a great love of dragons, and is willing to do whatever she can to aid them. She isn’t afraid to work, and she also isn’t afraid to do what she has to for the greater good. She has a compassionate personality, but a drive underneath to follow her path no matter how far away the end seems.
How do you plan on making your character grow from impression to a Gold?In stages, mostly, which I will list here. They will not be this concrete and so rigid as to be unbelievable, but Raelwyn’s general behavior will go by this pattern. Ish. These will gently bleed together, so as to see her transition smoothly. However, Rael’s basic personality will never change. She is who she is.
--Impression: Breathless, thinking she’s dreaming, then realizing she’s not. She now knows she was worthy of a dragon after all, but can’t believe she was worthy of this beautiful hatchling.
--Right after (next day and onward): Euphoria. Still uncertain what drew the queen to her but happy in the knowledge that she finally proved herself. Working hard to keep her gold happy and striving to excel in lessons to be worthy of her dragon.
--Several months later: Realizing that there was a steel within her. Always knew that she was determined, of course, but is just discovering how enduring she can be. Won’t let the stress of being a new goldrider crush her. Is becoming more and more self-aware of how rock-solid she can be, as queen lessons start and push her.
--Nearly a turn later: Now is realizing just how much will be expected of her. Raelwyn will be Weyrwoman someday. The knowledge doesn’t overcome her, though. Pushed during weyrling training, becoming even more certain of who she is, she will not allow her personality to change because of the responsibilities she will have. Still compassionate, still kind, still vibrant, but now with a constant thrum of strength and confidence beneath it. No longer wonders why her queen chose her. Raelwyn knows she can be a goldrider. Is no longer as gently-spoken as she was, but still not arrogant.
--Over a turn later: Confident in herself and her gold. Won’t let being queenrider go to her head. Is too level-headed and intelligent for that. Instead, takes her new rank seriously, but never loses her inner good humor and smile. Still extremely self-aware and won’t allow her inner personality to change, but holds confidence as a mantel to show that she will make a good Junior Weyrwoman. Is obviously not going to be a too-serious Weyrwoman like her predecessor, and some think she is too nice to make a good queenrider. Raelwyn is determined to do all she can for Cerulean.
Why do you want gold above the other colors?Raelwyn is my favorite candidate, the one that I’ve loved and babied over the years. I posted her here first because I like to play gold candidates longer than others. They need a solid base, they need a strong definition of who they are and how they are going to be played. I have other candidates for other colors, of course, because I love them all. :3 I am hoping to have a queen for Raelwyn because, to be honest, I just love her. She is a fictional character that I’ve created, but she’s a part of me—the best of everything that I am and what I wish I was. She’s like the leading lady of a book you’ve written—real to you even if she’s just words on paper to other people. I love all of my characters, but she IS my character, the one that’s stuck with me for a long time and the one that I love the most.
Give an example of an egg you've created.I recently designed 35, so it’s reeeeeally hard to pick just one. (Kira has seen the whole clutch though) ^-^
The Twisting Dreams Egg – Across the surface of this egg, there are shifting patterns of too many colors to name. Upon the base of the shell, darker hues swirl together to create a hazy appearance that reminds one of faceless nightmares. Overlapping these vague shapes, however, are bright, gleaming colors of blue, gold, and purple, bringing hope and light to what would have been a dark egg.
The Twisting Dreams Egg is permeated with calm and wistful feelings.
Give an example of a dragon you've created.Same as the eggs…but I love this blue. :3 So I'll pick him.
Name: Anubith (Ann-oo-bith)
Color: Blue
Age: newly hatched
Description: One of the darker dragons of his clutch, Anubith’s hide is so deep he could be mistaken for black at times. A rich, velvety midnight makes up the greater part of his coloration, which grows so dark on his legs and paws that they are black. In startling contrast against this, his neckridges and claws are a bright, beautiful azure hue. It is these little details that make him stand out greatly, as well as his unusually dark hide. Though smaller in size in the average blue, Anubith is going to be a good wingrider. His stature in no way detracts from his performance, for he is built like a racing runner—lean and all muscle where it counts. This dragon also has unusually strong legs, so he will be faster and more graceful on the ground than the others during weyrlinghood.
Personality: A very fair dragon, Anubith never takes sides during confrontations. He can step back and observe a situation from every angle, analyzing both views, along with the good and bad. Many dragons will bring their problems to him because of this, and he will give extremely sage advice. This blue will be known for his sharp intellect, and nothing will ever escape him. Very observant and exceptionally bright, he will perhaps be the smartest dragonet in his clutch. Anubith will catch on quickly to everything, and be a very fast learner. Had he been born a terran human, he would have been dubbed the second Sherlock Holmes. With just a few words or occurrences, he can piece together pretty much anything.
Rather mild in temperament, this blue is an easy-going guy. Anubith does not get angry too often, though it does happen on the rare circumstance when another dragon has insulted him in a great way. It will have to be a mighty affront, however, to do so. Most of the time, he is very easy to get along with, and a funny personality. Anubith enjoys joking around with his friends, and is a rather humorous dragon. This blue will never miss an opportunity to make someone laugh, which is odd, considering his mighty intellect. Perhaps it is because of his great mind that he has the need for great play, as well.
