Character:
Name: Tazar
Age: 17 (Late Winter)
Gender: Male
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual
Occupation: Second-in-line to Nerat Hold/Candidate
Description:
Tazar’s features are very strong and very similar to the rest of his family’s (due to the amount of inbreeding and cousin-marrying done in the past). He stands fairly tall at 5’11”. He weighs about 180 pounds, much of that muscles built from his combat training, dance training, and fighting with his brother.
That 5’11” body is topped with short, thick curly locks, black as night. They stay short and are spiraled tight against his head never poofing out. He has a strong face with a very distinct, square jaw and high cheek bones, making him look a bit harsh. This effect is emphasized by his eyes. They are brown. But this usually warm color seems cold with him and his stare, whether he is trying to be charming or rude, is aggressive and almost animalistic.
His nose is slightly large, but seeing as that is a common trait in his family, he takes it as something to be proud of, a sign of his noble lineage and great power. He has thin lips which often twist into either a smirk or a frown. Even his most genuine smile is slightly distorted by their sharp thinness and it makes for a slightly off-setting view. Much to his dismay, he is clean-shaven. Not yet having the thick black beards that his dad and older brother possess.
He stands proud and with his broad shoulders back as if that asserts himself as a man. His clothing is always lavish and rich and sits well with his pale skin and dark hair. He prefers expensive-looking colors like golds and silvers and jewel tones. He always makes sure his clothes fit properly and look good on him.
Personality:
Tazar would be the perfect Lord Holder. He is usually calm, aggressive, relatively intelligent without being scholarly, elegant and noble-like. However, most of these traits were simply expected of him. After all, he was the son of a Lord Holder, even if he was the second son. From birth, he was taught the ways of the Hold. He was taught manners, etiquette, charm, military strategy, history, leadership skills and anything else seen fit. However, as his older brother grew and proved himself extremely capable of being a good Lord Holder, Tazar’s lessons were slowly slackened by his father.
Left with unusable knowledge, Tazar continued to grow up bitter and hating his brother. He took out his anger and frustration by competing with his brother in everything- strength, knowledge, dance, combat skills, etiquette, and, eventually, womanizing. Though Tazar was fairly skilled in all these things, his brother surpassed him always. With little hope of becoming Lord Holder, Tazar was left as a competitive, angry, womanizer with some knowledge and manners.
Tazar is quick to flirt with most females. As long as they are relatively attractive. He’s extremely superficial and believes himself to be beautiful and a paragon of attractive manhood. He has two people inside of him. One is charming and well-mannered and almost likeable. The other is annoying, self-righteous, rude and cocky. He usually knows when to use which side of himself and can switch in a second. Around attractive women and figures of authority, he is charming and seems amiable enough (Though most women tend to find him much too friendly). In front of those he feels above, which is most, he is rather rude.
History:
Nerat Hold. Ruled over by the hard Lord Holder, Cazar and his lovely, but also hard wife, Marietta. The perfect Lord Holder family. Well, almost. They needed a male heir to keep the Hold in their family. It wasn’t too long before Marietta became pregnant. Though she was absolutely miserable, she kept it to herself and the birth occurred without a hitch. A boy. A healthy, beautiful baby boy they called Zarem. As long as the boy grew up strong and learned his lessons well, he would be heir.
To the couples delight, they were given another son two turns later. This one was also healthy, though slightly smaller than his brother. This one they dubbed Tazar. The Lord and Lady Holder agreed. Both sons needed to be trained for their father’s position. Just in case. Three turns later, the Lady had yet another child. A girl named Zara, just as beautiful as her mother.
As the three children grew, Zarem quickly and easily proved his skills in whatever his teachers gave to him. Things were looking worse and worse for Tazar. So Tazar separated himself from his brother. No use in getting attached to the one who he had to beat, the one whom he wished dead so he could take his rightful place. Thus, Tazar grew close to Zara. The young girl would follow and copy much of what her brother did, finding him the best in the world and much greater than Zarem. Tazar’s ego grew at the praise Zara gave him.
As Tazar grew even older, he sought to increase this ego. His lessons were starting to slacken. Though he did well in everything: history, geography, etiquette, military strategy, combat skills, dance, leadership; Zarem beat him in everything. He saw little chance for gaining Lordship. So he started challenging Zarem. Everything became a contest and Tazar lost every time. That’s when Tazar turned to women. He found that females showed him the most attention: he was growing into a fine male. He began to flirt with every pretty girl in the Hold, followed suit by Zara. Of course, he discovered that Zarem was already in this game and ahead of him. His bitterness grew. How could he beat his brother? What could he do that his brother couldn’t? He couldn’t think of a thing.
Zarem hit eighteen turns. It was decided, he would assume the leadership role at his father’s passing. And with his excellence in all lessons, it was not doubted that he would be Lord Holder for a long while. As Zara was not close to Zarem, Cazar and Marietta began to look for a young Lord Holder to whom Zara could get married, much to her distaste (she also follows her brother’s love for women). Now what was to be done with Tazar? Where would he fit in? They left him wondering this for a turn, not sure where the second son belonged. That was when the search dragon came, talking about a new Weyr. He showed interest in Tazar. Surely, the boy could Impress. With such leadership skills, maybe even Impress high. Of course, the rider didn’t know that the boy had also grown arrogant, rude, womanizing and bitter. So it was decided that Tazar would try to extend the family into dragonriding. It was Tazar’s last chance to beat his brother for Zarem would never be a dragonrider. And since Tazar could not lead the Hold, he would do his family proud by leading this Cerulean Weyr.
Fun Facts: Though Tazar is bitter, he generally does not let it show, seeing it as a sign of weakness. He automatically assumes that those, especially women, that are less attractive than to his likings are lower class and not worth his time. He has a hard time making friends, especially with males.
Candidates:
Type: Dragon
Color Preference: Tazar wants nothing less than a King. It’s what he “deserves”. (This is all an expression of Tazar’s wants. Please, give him anything you want, mwahahaha. I just like to mess with him! No matter what, I’ll make sure he takes some blows to his ego. It’s fun! –vicious smile-)[/
Rider's Shortened Name: T’zar
General Info: He would love a bronze, but I have seen him get many a violent wanna-be-gold green. It’s usually very amusing. But I like surprises. Maulings are fine.
RP Search: For time’s sake (since I’m in the middle of a huge project for school), I’m gonna skip this part.
Craftskills:
Craft:Lord Holding?
Level of Proficiency: Obviously not good enough.
Specialty: No real speciality
Weakness: History is a bit boring to him, but his biggest weakness would have to be defeating his brother in anything.
