Benden Hold
Like his sister, Haverisen has three rooms at Benden to call his own; consisting of a study, bathing chamber, and bed area, not far from the rest of his family. Cool tapestries line the walls, and soft pelts are strewn over the floors of all but the bathing chamber. The study holds a desk on one wall, surrounded by candles and lamps and glow baskets, filled with reports and the like for his stations’ duties, and a few ink pots and brushes clutter one of the drawers. Some few portraits are up of past family members and current in there as well, though they are too sparse to give much warmth to the utilitarian room.
The bathing chamber is a simple affair, with a hamper inside the door for clothes and towels, stacks of soft, fresh cloths for washing and drying on a stone shelf, and rows of soaps and unguents as desired. A pool sunk into the floor with cycling water is deep enough to submerge in when sitting, and kept heated carefully.
The bedchamber, though, is where Haverisen’s personality does show, in the gathered childish drawings from his siblings and himself on one wall, to a wall devoted to the care of his various fancy outfits and scarves, to one devoted entirely to the routes of his trader kin and notes on various holds and barters done in the past. The bed itself is layered in thick, plus green blankets and covers, and strewn about it on the floor are the soft, tawny hides he enjoys.
Candidate Barracks:
At the barracks, Haverisen only really has the one trunk he brought with him, which is placed at the end of his cot in the boy’s half of the rooms. Two small chests are stashed beneath the cot as well, all three brought from Benden onto the Trader Caravan from which he was searched.
