Come one, come all! Starting on OOC August 11th and continuing for an IC fortnight, Vicarious Vivacity will be traipsing into town to visit our vibrant little fledgling foundation! What is Vicarious Vivacity? They, dear friends, are one of the greatest bands – no, the greatest band – of traveling entertainers that you will ever lay eyes upon! Let the myriad sounds of music and laughter fill the halls as amazing acrobats, delightful dancers, clever comedians, and many, many more perform their promising acts for all the Weyr!
Event Info:
A traveling group of performers will be coming to the Weyr. The assorted performers come from every walk of life imaginable, from drudges to the wayward children of Holders to Craftsman of varying skill and rank. They travel the land to and fro and ask only for room and board in return for their services (though of course tips or payment to be split amongst the caravan are welcome!). It came to their attention that our little Weyr might be in need of some cheering up, and have enough time after our tragedy that we’d be willing to have a bit of fun.
Weyrwoman Samhara, naturally, disapproves for the most part, but the committee of Wingleaders (backed by Weyrleader K’roi) has managed to convince her that it will be good for the morale of the Weyr, even if it poses a bit of a distraction from normal Weyr activities.
There are a huge number of performers, and acts of varying sorts will be running all hours of the night and day so everyone will get to enjoy the festivities at least a little, irregardless of their schedules and when they might normally be awake. …But the light sleepers might suffer a little. The performers will be camped out in tents along the beaches to the south of the Weyr, and the festivities themselves will take place in the Great Hall, on the docks, and in some of the forest clearings between the camp and the Weyr. Sneaking over to the performers’ tents will of course be discouraged by the Candidate and Weyrling Masters, but…well.
Since the only things tying the performers to the caravan are friendships and a sense of adventure, they have a tendency to both pick up new members and leave behind old ones as they roam. If you have a character that you couldn’t figure out how to get to the Weyr, feel free to tag along! Or, if you like, give your character a little taste of drama by having an NPC friend, crush, or lover take off with the performers when they go. *grin*
