As those of you still with us have come to realize, we are very inactive. That's due in part to me, and also to our loss of nearly every player except those precious few willing to hold on.
We love you guys, and I love this Weyr. That's why I believe it's in the best interests of Cerulean to freeze the site and timeline for the near foreseeable future, up to several months if need be. Instead of letting the plot potential die and time pass without incident and threads, this will serve to allow me to get my things together with my remaining moderators and potentially relaunch the site with new flare in a couple of months.
Everyone who signed up will be informed via the email they provided when the site is being re-opened for business. Until then, I invite everyone to put up their suggestions and check back whenever you feel like it. The site will remain up and 'open' for perusal.
I'm sorry it's come to this, but I don't want to burn out those of you who check back in without any updates. We'll come back refreshed and ready to go and I look forward to roleplaying with you all again.

So, as you can plainly see, I am in need of some help around here! Kira will be back when she can, but for now it's only little 'ol Rouxy to the rescue and I've got a big move and work on my hands right now, so my time is a little more divided than it was before. That brings me to the topic at hand, which is that we'd like to bring in at least two (possibly more) dedicated players to become something along the line of Global Moderators. This means that each person will have a little bit of control over everything, but still be under both me and Kira as Site Admins. The Responsibilities 1. Mods will be able to approve applications, but it will take two Mod approvals versus the single Admin approval, thus just double checking on everyone's work. I even miss things sometimes and Kira's my double-checker in that area 2. Mods will be expected to post regularly, and one of their main jobs is to keep roleplay going, both in plot and personal areas. They will be included in some if not all main plots, and will likely be given NPC rights during many of the events. 3. Gather booth NPC replies will be shared between all Mods and Admins. We many split them up, or simply show a raise of hands for whoever wants to take a post at that time. 4. Mods may be asked to create news posts, initiate threads, or do other small individual tasks such as site updates etc. They may also be invited to create parts of clutches, but that is the prerogative of the clutch owners and the Admins. 5. Mods are not the police of the boards. They will be shown respect, but also must show respect. Mods will have limited control over posts, but may not ask a player to change his or her post without consulting an Admin first. They are able to give warnings, and are expected to pass on anything they see or hear to the Admins that may cause trouble, including OOC fighting, sulking or whining over color distribution etc. The requirements!1. Please be aware that these kinds of positions take time to do properly. That being said, a dedication of at least a couple of hours a week is all that's really necessary. A post here, news there, it's not that difficult, and I will definitely prefer quality over quantity. Smaller more personal tasks may be delegated to any single Moderator, but I'm more apt to do those kinds of things myself. 2. As far as experience goes, I require all of none. If you've been on the site, I'll know the quality of your work, and I can tell you now, I'd be glad to offer the position to anyone currently here. You are all of the quality I'm looking for, and the know-how is more of my department. No need to know coding, or any of that nonsense, just a good solid sense of roleplay knowledge and of course good knowledge of the site and Weyr history. I'm not going to dump 'Hey make a new layout' on anyone in the near future. 3. Be willing to play a multitude of characters, both personal and NPC. Mods will be encouraged to create more characters simply because it gives them a little more flexibility. That being said, it is understood that Mods will not always have every character active, so the activity rules will be slightly waived for them. 4. Be understanding and patient. We all want to have a good time here, but sometimes people can be annoying, or have a bad day or simply be upset. It's just a fact. Everyone does it, you, me, him, her. All Mods will be required to handle things in an understanding manner, be calm and respectful even if they are being raged at. (RAGE) So be willing to overlook some things and go with the flow. 5. A means of contact outside of the Weyr site, preferably some kind of instant messenger program. Rouxy has Skype, and AIM, but is also open to using Yahoo and MSN. If you have a different program, simply include it below. Email is only as a last option if you do not log into your IM program consistently. You may be asked to install a different program for conferences, but will not be required to log into it unless asked beforehand. This contact information will not be shared and will remain with Rouxy, Kira and the other Moderators. The Application Name: (Your user name, not real name, unless that is your user name ) Experience: (Please list amount of time roleplaying, any previous moderator or admin experience, and anything else you think might be significant.) Why do you want to be a Mod? (Just a little snippet about why you'd like to Mod.) Means of communication: (Please include both the type of instant messenger you're using, and your user name. These will remain private.) Anything else? (I like macaroni and cheese.) Send all applications to Rouxy please, and these will be completely confidential. The new Moderators will be announced as the positions are filled and get a shiny place on the front page The Application

Rozsk passed down a side-road with her senses alert, her tail proudly arched so it carefully stayed a hand-span away from the ground rather than drag in the dust. Her wings rode half-open, slight breezes ruffling them like sails as she remained prepared for fast movement. The humans were fewer as it grew into the true darkness of night, so the gold was fairly alone in her pursuit. Her mind was semi-closed, not wanting her presence felt immediately when she finally found her quarry. What was the fun if he knew where she was so easily? She moved onto a much larger main road, and padded down close to one of the buildings, attempting to use the dwelling's residual daytime heat to hide her own from her quarry. Back with Rozen, Zeek darted his head out of the basket, a fish in his small claws that he worked at enthusiastically. A whiff of thought from Hisgold had him pausing though. What male? He smelled no male. That was Hisgold! Trilling, he slipped from the basket, fish still clasped in his forehands as he darted between to her location. Rozen gave a slight sigh, but the small smile on her face belied the somewhat frustrated noise.
As Zeek appeared overhead, Rozsk whuffed a brief, distracted greeting, and was thus caught off guard when the much sought after male barked his greeting. Whirling in place, the gold raised her hackles, bristling that she'd be caught rather than the catcher. After a moment of stillness though, she slid out of her aggressive position with the fluidity of a serpent and chirped a brief acknowledgment, flaring her wings momentarily as she awaited greeting. Perhaps on another night they'd try another round of hunt and catch, but for now, her curiosity won out as she reached out in question to the brown.
Zeek, seeing the male who posed a threat to his own position and taking Rozsk's initial aggressive reaction to heart, mantled in front of the much larger brown and all but shrieked as he fluttered on air well out of reach. This was Hisgold, and he would protect her! No dirty ground-running smallwings was gonna touch her! He fluttered and whirled, an attempt at distraction that would have been much more effective were his colors bright instead of dull.
Rozen moved when she heard the double shriek, both within her head and without, the small brown's anger a pulsing in her mind and the delivery all but forgotten on the ground behind. She should have known he'd react that way with Rozsk showing interest in another wher. Jogging towards the source of the conflict, the goldhandler hoped to arrive in time to silence the flitter. Whers, certainly whers faced with a gold to puff up their need to show off, were highly unlikely to tolerate the amount of verbal abuse a firelizard could spew when inspired, and she had no idea how this unknown brown would take it. Rozsk could and likely would command him to stillness, but there was no need to upset all three creatures when merely getting Zeek to leave off would make everyone that much more relaxed.

The little birdy thing is actually a Darter, of the wren variety. They're super cute and about the same intelligence/trainability as a cockatiel.
And yes, you should get off your butt and make arts : D

The Main Hall was brightly lit for the evening meal, and the voices within were jovial as the goldpair made the familiar trek into the Hold. Rozsk lifted her large head to the night air and took a deep breath, scenting the air for the brown the small one had shown her. Interest colored her thoughts as she followed Hers up the stairs, pausing as Rozen did before the entrance with a backwards glance at the gold. "Stay here love, see if you can smell out that other wher. Might be interested in coming with us." The gold gave an agreeable snort, always willing to find more males. She opened and closed her large wings with a smart snap, startling a nearby holder into ducking within the Hall.
Snorting in brief amusement, Rozsk's whirling eyes took in the few people around, most of which at least seemed to show the most basic respect for a queen. She strolled around the Hall, her tailtip flicking with slight annoyance that the wind wasn't carrying any scent to her other than that of the two-legs, and their foodsmells. She began pacing down the street, the area bright to her night vision.
Inside, Rozen was greeted cordially by the holders, and directed to the shipment, Zeek fluttering overhead. A drudge lifted the package while a second offered her a small basket of food in offering to her and her wher. Taking the basket with thanks and heading for the Hall's entrance, the goldhandler peered around for her bonded, but Rozsk was nowhere to be seen. Reaching for the creature's mind, the goldhandler received curiosity. Rozsk was actively searching the narrow streets, her tail lashing like a feline on the prowl. Her emotions were playful, and it would be obvious to any wher that her actions meant she was play-stalking, though more than one two-legs made frightened noises as she passed on the hunt with a low growl and bared fangs, ignoring them.
Rozen chuckled at her mind mate, and gestured for the drudge to set the package down. "We appreciate the assistance, but you can set that down now and go back to your dinner. Tell your lord Holder Rozsk and I will both enjoy the food he has prepared for us." With a nod the man did as asked, and returned within. Zeek trilled a goodbye before turning his attention to the basket. Something good to eat? He landed back on her shoulder, then slide down Rozen's arm and practically dove within the basket, rummaging with delight. He was all too shortly stuffing himself with roasted fish.

-APC Wher-
-Lives at Cerulean Weyr. He has been known to travel around with humans to other locations as protection and transport.-
Type: Wher Name: Cerulesk Color: Brown 900000 Age: 10 Months
Telekinetic Rating: 20 Bonuses/Minuses: (Base Roll 22) + (Brown -2) Specialization: Endurance Breakdown Strength: 10 Precision: 0 Endurance: 15 (5 + 10) Concentration: 5
Description: Cerulesk is a average sized brown, standing a bit higher and broader in the chest area than his brethren. His color is a rich mahogany, with a touch lighter coloration in his wingsails and along the tip of his tail. Along his spine and shoulders, a much darker chocolate brown is sprayed almost haphazardly, giving him some delightful contrast and good blending abilities in the nighttime jungle. His limbs are heavily muscled, and have some slight fluidity to them, evidence of his prowess on the ground with speed and agility.
His wings are just large enough to allow the shortest of glides, and he could easily save himself from a nasty fall, however he will descend quickly and must watch out for rough landings. His size will make it difficult to climb smaller, thinner trees, but on the big trees and a solid cliff-face, he'll find good if slow purchase with thick, strong claws.
Personality: Cerulesk is the Weyr's wher for a reason. He is protective and friendly towards all beings, of both human and draconic origin. When meeting a new person, he will often lightly touch their mind, gathering information both on that person and about what they know. Because of this, he is incredibly smart and understanding for any of the draconic cousins. He remembers faces and knows everyone who lives in the Weyr, and many of the Holders who visit from time to time. He will take patrol requests from Rozsk, as a Queen and leader of the Nightwatch, and takes specific care around the hatching and weyrling areas.
Because of his unique position, and the fact that he very lightly bonds with almost all the people he encounters, Cerulesk is welcome in nearly all parts of the Weyr. He finds special interest in the Creche and all younglings though, and he would fight tooth and claw to protect the Weyr's young ones. He enjoys bonding to people and his thoughts are organized and often easily understood, even by those unfamiliar with thought-communication.

It was only early evening, but Rozsk was up and ready, as was the Gold's typical schedule. She wasn't happy when there were things to do and the time to do them. Only a step or so behind her in the evening's activities, Rozen finished her waking ablutions with a freshly washed face and fresh clothes. Dressed in tough hide boots, dark green breeches and a tan blouse, she carried a riding jacket slung over her shoulder to stave off the cold of between that was shortly coming up. The goldpair left their cavern living quarters with a jaunty air, glad for the upcoming trip to the Hold.
Zeek trilled a good evening to his females, twirling around before settling with a deliberate nuzzle onto Rozen's shoulder, cuddling for all he was worth into her cheek and neck. Smiling with gentle amusement at the brown's loving antics, the goldhandler reached up to fondly caress the creature before slipping a thin pair of gloves on her hands. She would be much too warm for a bit, but she'd strip off the extra clothing when she reached the Hold.
Rozsk lead the way out of the caverns, her sense alert to the nearby jungle edge. Too many felines hunted near the Weyr at night for the Gold to be unwary with Hers so close. She kept her tail just barely brushing against Rozen's leg as the goldpair moved for the cliff edge. They reached the launch point in a short walk, and Rozen reached over to adjust the much smaller and lighter straps she used in place of the similar dragon riding straps. More of a saddle, it strapped high around the wher's shoulders and in front of her wings. Stepping up on the offered foreleg, the goldhandler settled herself into place, and with a few deft movements was strapped securely into place, the wher-hide jacket now on. In another moment, the goldpair had run the few steps to the cliff edge and launched free of the ground, the gold's unusually wide wings snapping wide into a practiced glide. The pair blinked between without further hesitation and reappeared over Silver Cove Hold.
Spiraling the rest of the way down in a shallow glide, the pair safely landed just outside the Hold, hailing the watchdragon with the customary greeting. The Hold had recently received a small shipment of weapons for the Nightwatch, and it was something Rozsk could carry herself, so to save everyone the hassle of sending by boat, the pair had elected to pick it up themselves. Zeek was still wrapped lightly but securely around Rozen's shoulder and neck, and he chirruped a greeting at a passing firelizard. An image of something big and brown flashed through Rozen's mind, and she paused in her dismount, puzzled as she stripped off the jacket and gloves, tucking the latter into her belt, the jacket laid over Rozsk's shoulders. "That's not the Hold's wher..." she muttered, glancing askance at Zeek who was warbling to himself. Curious as to why there was an unknown handler in the vicinity, the goldpair walked together down the Hold's streets towards the main Hall.

That picture was one I worked on for my art thesis class. Photoshop CS and CS2 were what I used, with a tablet. I use CS5 now. The artpad thingies are awesome 'cause you can see all the strokes, and other people can add to it. I'd love to see other people here using it, even for goofy stuff
