Looks good to me! Welcome to the family~ We'll be postponing any candidate lessons until after the hatching, but those who don't impress will be ready to learn in the next week or two if you're up to it :3

The surf beat above him and tugged lightly at him as he worked, the sharp scraper only a little more difficult to use underwater even despite his practiced hand. Shards and blast, how had this dock gotten so overwhelmed with barnacles in so short a time? It didn't help that even at low tide they were still covered with sea water, allowing them to grow uninhibited. He felt a slight pressure at his back, but wasn't alarmed as a dolphin zoomed past. They were always trying to get him to play, but they knew when to not get in the way. The tickle for fresh air began, and he pushed up and away, snagging hold of an offered fin almost out of habit as the friendly bottlenose assisted him topside.
Hoisting himself out of the water and onto the small floating dock beside the main docks, Zanalorin took several slow deep breaths of air to re-accustom himself to regular breathing while two of the dolphins sported around the small dock. Laying his tools out, he checked them for wear and damage. Satisfied that they were in good repair, he re-stored his tools in the netted pouch at his side and then set out for the main dock with strong sure strokes. Catching hold of the ladder there, the ex-dolphineer pulled himself out of the water and onto the docks, taking a deep breath of the salty air as he began towel drying.
A glance thrown over the docks identified new workers and old alike, and Zan snorted lightly at the kids they had doing the cleanup work. New candidates, for sure. No one would volunteer to work here unless they were touched in the head. Snickering at the light jab at himself, he strolled over to the pair, dodging netters and haulers with hardly a second glance. He pulled his wet hair back into a short runner's tail, tying it with a thin piece of hide and unheedful of the fact that it was still dripping down his back. The towel he draped over his bare shoulders. "Oi, you two candidates too?" He called when he got close, perching on a large pile of coiled rope.

Lovely, lovely. History looks fine. Just so you know, you are free to take one of our two remaining join-up bonus flitters if you'd like. We have a green and a brown for grabs. If not, welcome and have fun!

S'lain shook his head at the question. "We only have a few right now, not even enough for a full clutch, but we get in new Candidates all the time it seems." He smiled down at Kivin as they neared the top of the cliff, passing rider weyrs on the way. S'lain pointed at several. "Here's where the Riders stay with their dragons when they have free time. When you impress, you'll get one close to the ground so your dragon won't have a chance of falling off the ledge."
Finally rounding the top of the cliff, the bluerider angled towards a double set of buildings, waving idly to Jaxith on the way. The blue had found a favorite sunning spot of his further along the top where the trees were cleared away. He pointed out the open-air hatching sands. "There's the most important place for you, as a Candidate, Kivin. The hatching sands. When one of the golds lays her eggs, you'll get to touch, and hopefully even impress one of her hatchlings. Remember this place, and I would suggest memorizing several different ways to get up and down from here to the beach if you need to get here in a hurry." He advised, ending the tour at the adjacent candidate barracks.
Pointing to the distant jungle, and the dragons even then on watch duty, S'lain ushered the boy inside. "We keep a constant watch on this area because of its proximity to the jungle. We haven't had a direct feline attack, thank Faranth, but you need to be aware of the danger. Don't go outside alone, especially during the night, and just be careful." He gave Kivin a bright smile. "You're safe here, but we like to take extra precautions. This here is the male quarters, while the other building houses the young girls. Do you have any other questions before I leave you to get settled in?"

PM Rouxy with your guesses, and win prizes! Chores and Jobs are now active for participation and earning of Marks. Weyrlings and Candidates should all be aware that they now have chores to do. They will rotate monthly, so don't feel discouraged if you don't particularly like your chore Those who have a skill can earn Marks by the use of that skill. Post up a thread and earn Marks for those Gather days! The Hatching of the Tropical Waters Clutch will start this Friday, the 9th of July! If anyone has any more candidates, they're welcome to come on in, but make certain you post up their info in the Clutch Questionnaire so we'll know what to expect! He was late, he was late, he was late. Nearly skidding down the hallway he’d taken so sharp a turn at, Zanalorin sped along on sandaled feet, dripping water from his cut-off pants and salt-tinged shirt. The call from the gold had come out just as he was exiting the water from a good swim with the local dolphin pod, an activity he had come to enjoy again amongst the friendly southern dolphins. Each one was an awful hurting reminder, but the sting was fading, like a wound after it had already been dunked in salt a few times. It was with an excited heart that he made for his room at breakneck speeds, nearly breaking his neck in the process to try and get dried and changed in record time.
He -was- excited. It surprised him, but after seeing the clutch so pristinely on the sands, and the gallant way the riders from Southern had flown it in, well, one would be crazy to not admire them at least a little. What would his brother say if he knew? Thankfully, he didn’t, or Zan would likely never hear the end of it. Still dripping salt water from his hair, he threw on dry clothes, leaving his wet ones on the floor -someone would probably be angry about that later- and dashing for the hatching sands he’d already passed once to get to the candidate quarters. The queen stood like a golden beacon, and the candidate skimmed to a respectful stop before entering the sands at a much more sedate pace. Shards, the others were already among the eggs! Trying to not show his chagrin and instead putting on a charming smile, he sketched a deep bow to the Gold and the Weyrwoman.
“Ma’am, Queen, I hope you are both well. I apologize for being late, and I hope that I may still be permitted to touch your magnificent clutch.” He paused mid-bow, holding it until he got an answer one way or another. He noticed with a tiny half-grin that his hair was still occasionally dripping, and his shirt would be soaked again before he was through here, for certain.

Everyone with Candidates reeeeally needs to post here. This brief questionnaire will let us know what you're ok with, and how you'll feel about some small details concerning the hatching. Each candidate needs their own info posted, but you can post more than one at a time in your reply. These are questions for you as the player, not for your candidates. Player name:Character name:Are you alright with being left standing? Meaning are you ok if you don't impress this round? Not that you won't if you say yes, but we would like to know. Don't feel bad if you say no. Sometimes, we all want our Weyrlings too much to wait Are you alright with your character being maimed/attacked? 1-5: Can some little hatchling rough your character up a bit? The 1-5 rating system stands for how much or little roughing with these generalized descriptions. 1:Small scrapes and bruising. 2:Small or shallow gash, maybe a twisted ankle or foot. 3:Deep enough wound to leave scaring. 4:Broken bones or large scars that will be in a prominent, noticeable area. 5:Loss of a limb, sight, ear etc. Note that just because you pick 5, doesn't mean you'll have a legless rider at the end of the hatching. It just means you'd be ok with the different levels of maiming up to limb loss. If you chose 3, you're alright with some scaring, but it's superficial and so on. You can also just say no if you don't want your character injured. Are you alright with your character suffering emotional damage? Like, something dramatic or traumatizing that's not physical, or may be coupled with something physical depending on how you answered the previous question. The medicine reached the hands of the assistants without incident and began the trip up the side of the cliff via stairs and ramps. S'lain watched it for a moment before turning to look apologetically at the kid. He dropped to the ground and moved to assist the candidate down behind him. "I'm sorry Kivin, I sometimes forget how overwhelming this can all be to someone who's not used to it. I'll be showing you to your new barracks where you will learn everything you need to. I appreciate the offer to help me, but you can help best by learning all the things we've got for you." The bluerider laid a comforting hand on the candidate's shoulder, and then gestured with the same hand towards the cliff face.
"Unfortunately, we'll be taking the long way up, all the way to the top. I hope you're ready for a bit of a climb. Jaxith will take your things up though and be waiting after the condensed tour is over." Smiling, he began leading Kivin towards the nearest set of stairs.
Jaxith waited until the two humans had moved far enough away before taking off again in a spray of sand. A few wingbeats had him at the same height as the cliff, and the big blue sailed easily over the lip, coming to rest in the clearing between the candidate barracks and the hatching grounds. Taking advantage of the respite, Jaxith angled his wings to catch the best sun, rumbling in contentment.
Smiling at the backwash of feelings from his blue, S'lain began pointing out places of note while they climbed, following the winding route upwards that was sometimes inside, and sometimes outside of the sheltering rock. "There's the infirmary. If you need to find me -and don't hesitate if so- someone there is most likely to know where I am if I'm not there outright. Here's the kitchen, and the Great Hall." He pointed down a large corridor to an even larger room stuffed with tables and full of people before moving on. People passed, greeting him, which he returned in kind.

Sakki chirped at the female twolegs in question, pausing to hover over her head as she was addressed. What, what? She'd said something the way some did, but the flitter hadn't understood. Winging first left then right, the jewel-like green chirped a few times, then turned a flip. She was done showing off now, and returned with a blink between to Hers, landing neatly on his shoulder and nuzzling up to him with a delighted warble.
K'roi gave a short chuckle, then stood to welcome the brownrider in a more normal fashion. He walked over to the woman, his face now a mask of calm. "You'll have to excuse Sakki, she delights in showing off for newcomers. I am Weyrleader K'roi. You must be... Jacerey, and Tenoth if what Gareth tells me is correct." He held hand out to her in greeting, while the small green now situated around his neck gave a chirp when her name was mentioned.
Gareth gave a tilt of his head in greeting. You and Yours are welcome then. We can use every dragon. Would you like to hunt? We have excellent selection in meat beasts. Gareth imitaded Tenth's move, opening his own wings to the sun and allowing his enjoyment to show through.

Just got an awkward point or two.
The Star Hall is located at Honshu WeyrHold, so dragons and riders would be highly requested from the astronomers studying there, and even encouraged by the Hall itself to try and impress. These astronomer riders would thusly be more interested and likely to undergo the telekinetic studies in addition to their astronomy lessons. It's not that far away, and actually, Honshu and Cerulean join their wings together to cover Landing, Monaco Bay and Silver Cove Hold, as well as the surrounding jungle.
She'd still be an astronomer -and- a Rider at Honshu. The only issue she might have then, would be leaving Honshu and standing elsewhere rather than on Honshu's sands, but you have that covered already in the guilt from not being able to help. It just seems a bit confusing to read.
