Barely hiding a grin at the young man and woman’s repartee -they were clearly friends- S’lain watched as the kids turned salesmen practically before his eyes. He placed his hand on his hip as Jaxith continued to peer intently at the trio, his amusement clear to his rider.
Following the lad forward, the bluerider allowed him to show off a bit, and the furs were, admittedly, of fairly good quality. He didn’t mind so much when the felines were already dead. Shame he didn’t have the marks they would cost. Everything he had went right back into the healer’s wing almost as soon as it met his hand. Still, this might be fun. He allowed a small scowl to cross his features as his eyes went from the box of furs back up to the pair.
Jaxith showed more obvious interest, craning his head far over the crate and sniffing at the furs. He caught wind of his rider’s thoughts, and made a show of growling at the crate –the bluepair’s distaste in felines was known Weyr-wide- and S’lain gave his shoulder a friendly slap. “Come now Jaxi, you know those aren’t living anymore.” A slight frown now colored his face as he peered critically at the crate at its two sellers. “Still, where were these killed? I haven’t seen these variations in pattern around this area. We have a terrible feline problem here, and I'd hate to think yet another type has emerged."
Ok, he was bored now. Zan frowned up in a pout, tired of eavesdropping on the small group. It didn't seem to be worth it anyway if they were just traders. All the effort of wooing, well, he would want more than one lay out of his work. True, the male in question was rather eye-catching, but Zan was nothing if not lazy when something tripped up a plan of his. Oh well. His own brows raised in appreciation of the furs they were showing off though. Now -that- would be nice in his own bed. A cozy little nest if there ever was one.
He brushed a hand through his messy hair before coming forward openly. The candidate leaned around the trader pair, ready to talk before he heard the dragon growl, and skipped back a step in automatic reaction. An angry dragon was not a dragon -he'd- care to mess with on any day.

Aw, he's so cute~ There are a few confusing points where riders are given different colored dragons In his description, you call him a brownrider, and in his history, you have his father first a brownrider, then impress to a bronze. Fix that, and you'll have insta-approval ALSO, if you're not aware, you can have a flitter for this character if you'd like! The colors left for choosing are on the Available page, and either you or I can make it.

The sun had just touched the horizon when the items for delivery were finished being packed; safely ensconced in their warmed carrying pouches, they would survive the cold of between for the trip. Half a Wing of dragons was ready to depart at the command of a single gold wherhandler. Standing next to her wher, handler Rozen of Rozsk eyed the delivery party with a cautious air, her mind going over the various things that would need to be done upon arrival. The goldpair had gotten up early -for a wher- and would leave as soon as the sun dropped behind the horizon line. Rozen felt refreshed and ready to begin her new life alongside this clutch, almost like they were all siblings heading out for the world. The eight eggs would bring new hope to the eastern end of the Southern Continent, with all the well wishes from Southern Weyr behind it. Rozsk’s duty would be to swell the Nightwatch’s ranks, while the pair worked to train the new handlers. Her estrus time was a bit far off, and there were hardly any bonded whers to speak of at Cerulean, but the goldpair had hopes that the wild whers could be enticed to chase. That strong wild blood would be perfect for their new base of operations.
A soft breeze blew in from the nearby ocean, and Rozen took a deep breath. A brown flitter blinked into existence in front of the goldpair, and Rozen held out her arm to him. The firelizard warbled a happy greeting, and landed on her arm, climbing up to perch on her shoulder, his head against her cheek. “Zeek, done packing?” She asked with a small smile, and the flitter chirped in agreement, despite not understanding her words. The riders chatted amiably between themselves, and both the dragons and Rozsk had lively, excited colors swirling in their eyes. A few of these dragonpairs would by staying in Cerulean to assist in bolstering their numbers further. Truth be told, Rozen was a little glad that some of her new acquaintances would be joining her in their new home. They all had a difficult time ahead of them.
Rozsk turned a look on her handler, the gold’s thoughts a riot of eagerness to be off. Rozen hopped up astride the gold wher with the offered foreleg of assistance, and the pair began the short trek to the summit of the cliffs closest to Southern’s hatching grounds as soon as the sun’s light dipped below the horizon. Zeek, having launched when His moved, sang a happy song around them as he twirled around his golds. Rozsk already had the location well in mind, planted there by one of the dragons who’d visited the island Weyr before, and she passed it on to the little brown. Hers had better hold on tight though, as there was a bit of a headwind and it was time to leave. The wher’s second eyelids were closed to block the remaining light and heat, and Rozen guided the gold with her own sight to the edge of the precipice. The wher spread her wonderfully large and powerful wings –a gift from her own wild heritage. Are they ready, love? The woman asked the gold, and the chorus of answering yells told her that the wher’d sent the message through. In perhaps the first time in Pern’s growing history, a gold wher led the wing of dragons into the sky on glittering wings as Rozsk leapt from the ledge as the light disappeared from the sky.
Despite her prowess over most whers in the sky, Rozsk could not actually fly. She could flap her wings and retain current height for a time, and she was superb at gliding and catching the winds to carry her higher, but she could not build height herself. So, locking her wings and sliding into an updraft, the gold wher lead the wing of considerate dragons and riders, the entire group blinking out of sight all at once accompanied by one brown flitter and a handful of other firelizards both bonded and wild.
The sky over the island Weyr was suddenly full of dragons as the wing winked out of between. They were not unexpected, and a chorus of welcoming bugles from the gathered dragons below ushered the delivery party towards the open hatching sands. Half of the collapsible roof was up, while the seaward side was down in an attempt to catch the remaining sun’s heat before it had set. The wing settled lightly to the sand, careful to not jostle their precious cargo. Helpers rushed from the side to assist in removing the eggs, while Trith, a majesty of gold wreathed in the sunset’s colors, directed where they would lay near the queen’s couch.

What an interesting idea for a Weyrling Master I like! I'll roll you up a flitter and have it ready in a bit, ok? I'll edit him/her into the bottom of M'ma's character app. Oh ho, he gets his name at the top of the site! XD Also, we'll talk about lesson plans and the like via PM, k? Roll around some ideas and send 'em over whenever you have a chance. No rush, as that hatching's not for a while, but we do have some stray weyrlings running around here >> <<

It may be a little bit before we can get to his search thread, seeing as we only have two searchriders and one of them is yours In the mean time, it's up to you whether you'd like to post elsewhere, as I'm fine with it.

S'lain grinned at the choke-hold the kid had on him, nudging Jaxith into a smooth glide over the Weyr. The blue lazily circled the cliff-side, riding the upcurrents filled with salt and spume from the waves below. It was refreshing and warm at once, and was a welcome change to the chill of before. The bluerider truly preferred these warmer climates over those in the north.
Winging over the open hatching sands, then back towards the docks, Jaxith began a slow decent towards the narrow strip of beach that was the easiest entrance into the Weyr proper. Jaxith, tell the healers that we'll need them to help with the medicine. Rumbling his assent, the big blue sent the message forward, and by the time they were close to the ground, two helpers were making their way down the various outer stairs.
The rider and his cargo finally made a decent landing on the shore, Jaxith backwinging to keep their touchdown gentle. Glancing around, S'lain finally looked over his shoulder, his hand giving the boy's clasped ones a pat. "There now, we're here. You can let go yaknow. You're squeezing the life out of me." He joked, working the flight straps loose while he spoke. Slipping to the side, he perched on Jaxith's shoulder while he reached around to the medicine and began working it free as well, letting it down slowly into the waiting hands of the two assistants. "Get that back up there, will you? I'll be up shortly to help."

Weyr News
The clutch from Southern will be arriving shortly! Helpers are going to be needed at the hatching sands to welcome the clutch and the new riders who will be joining Cerulean's Wings!
Everyone needs to be on the sands to watch this historic event!
The Weyr's resident gold, Trith, will be taking over care of the clutch when it arrives. This will be the best time for Candidates especially to get a good look at the eggs, as a Touching will take place a handful of days after the clutch is successfully settled in its new home. It is suggested that no one other than ranking riders and allowed Weyr personnel approach the clutch and attempt to assist.
-As an added note, anyone wishing to make a transfer rider from Southern may also ride along with the clutch and be welcomed at the Feast that will take place in the Great Hall afterward.
-A contest for guessing the color each egg contains will be posted as soon as the clutch is revealed! Get your guesses in early, as when the hatching begins, all entries will be closed!

The bluerider stepped across the dock to inspect the crates of healing supplies, noting the information scrawled across the side in a nearly unintelligible hand. He snorted. "Hold's getting sloppy..." He muttered to himself, waving to two nearby dockhands. "Can you shift this up further on the beach? I'll have Jaxith lift them to the infirmary ledge from there to save time." The workers nodded in response with an 'Aye, Healer S'lain', gathering another helper or two and setting to the requested task without further delay.
The timely arrival of a flitter seemed to highly amuse the big blue, who delighted in the smaller cousins. Jaxith snorted as the firelizard fell from his shoulder, only to reappear atop of His rider's head. The blue's thoughts turned slightly darker as he harshly warned the green that she was not to harm His. His wings gave a short open-close snap in emphasis.
S'lain, oblivious to the disturbance until he felt the sharp prick of claws in his scalp, was taken rather by surprise and gave a short yelp reaching up quickly to belay the intruder's further movement with his hand. Jaxith sent him a brief image of the intruder -a green flitter- and he was careful to not hurt the creature as he attempted to extricate himself out from under it. Luckily -whether for him or the flitter it's difficult to say, as Jaxith had worked himself up into an anxious state- the flitter's owner decided at that moment to appear and take the creature in hand. Giving a rueful rub at his head with a small wince, S'lain gave a small laugh at the younger man. "So I can tell. Seems like a common trait among them." Brows raised at the armload worth of crate, he glanced back the way the flitter's owner had come, noting a young woman as well.
"You two come off the mainland?" He questioned, raising his hand to gesture towards the sea side end of the docks. Jaxith mentally nudged him, and he gave a nearly imperceptible nod of agreement. The blue shifted closer to look at the two and enjoy their firelizard, his eyes whirling with easy blues and greens now that His was no longer in danger.
Zan, following the traders from their boat, watched the entire episode with a quirky grin and a wistful expression. Firelizards could cause no end of trouble -which was half of the reason he wanted one! Still, his target seemed a genuine sort, and he was already working through the plans for this one. Secrety should be the way, mhmm. A flower here, a trinket there. And the girl wasn't half bad looking either. Maybe he'd have two for the price of one. Clearly enjoying his devilish thoughts, Zan nearly tripped over a casting net, stumbling against a support beam. He gave a minute curse, and glared daggers at the offending netting, as if by sheer will of hate, he could make it disappear or shred into pieces.
After a moment's deliberation, he straightened again, nonchalantly brushing himself off as if nothing happened. Now, where was that delightful looking pair again?

Jaxith turned his head to watch the boy return, clearly pleased with his decision and puffing out another long breath of warmed air. The big blue moved to get his feet under him, as it was clear they'd be leaving very shortly. He remained low to the ground though, well aware of how difficult it often could be for younglings to get a-dragonback their first time. He told the brown to be ready to leave, and gave the flitter his destination if he decided to follow under his own power. He shifted his foot out, offering the usual stepping spot.
S'lain turned as Kivin walked back out, his hand on his hip, a smile on his face. Right on time. Nice to see in the younger generation. The Weyr would put more determination into the kid, that was for sure, but he had good points already in place that could be further influenced to bloom. Plus, S'lain would make sure the kid continued at least a fraction of his previous healer training, if he had enough skill.
Turning to give his dragon an affectionate slap, the bluerider beckoned the youngster closer, pointing to where he'd sit behind S'lain on the saddle and directing him with words as he slung up the candidate's pack. He vaulted up afterward, reaching back to tie down the baggage, then leaning down to offer his hand. "Just step on his foreleg, he's holding it there to help you up. Right, don't be afraid to step on him boy, he's tough enough to take it. Hold on to the saddle straps if you need to, you're going to tie them around you." He helped Kivin up as he spoke, directing where he'd tie the straps.
After they were both settled comfortably, Jaxith rose to his feet, moving away from the wall so that he'd have the space needed to launch upward. "Hold on to me if it will make you feel steadier." The bluerider said, flashing a smile before he gave the mental order to take off. Jaxith crouched low before rocketing upward with a powerful leap, his wings clapping down with a thunderous displacement of air. A few more wingbeats had them high over the Hall and of safe distance to wink between without further ado. Eight seconds later saw them suddenly appear in a much warmer climate, an even more dramatic change from the absolute chill of between. S'lain had given no warning, because he usually found that the suddenness of it didn't give candidates the chance to get overly frightened. By the time they were aware of the change, the trip was already over and many could rationalize it as being a lot less worse than they'd heard about or thought.
Jaxith straightened into a glide over the carved cliffs and ocean-side Weyr, and S'lain leaned back a bit so the kid could hear him. "Welcome to your new home."
