Oh thank Faranth that someone who actually had emotions had come as well. F‘ren wasn‘t sure he could have handled that guy alone. And wasn‘t she an entertainer or something? Dancer or singer or something else, F‘ren wasn‘t quite sure but all children loved entertainers so the chore was made easier already. „Hey Mira, and sorry that we were going to start without you. We just couldn‘t wait any longer to start singing, it‘s so much fun.“ He didn‘t even have to fake cheerfulness like Elric was attempting – and failing – to do. Sure, his singing voice would certainly never be praised, but F‘ren really did think that singing was fun.
„That‘s a splendid idea Mira! And oooh, a Harper song! We‘re so lucky that we have Mira here to teach us some new songs, aren‘t we?“ The child in F‘ren‘s lap nodded enthusiastically and squirmed impatiently, waiting for the singing to start. F‘ren used the time to stare at Elric. What was wrong with the man? He looked like someone had died or something. Well, on second thought, no. If someone died he‘d at least show some emotion. Or would he? The man was stiff as a plank and boring as nothing else. And the way he talked... Pff, F‘ren could write an essay on that alone. Already he disliked the man greatly and pitied the poor dragon that would have to end up with him.
F‘ren snickered a little at one of the children that had apparently decided to stay close to Elric, what a brilliant little brat it was. She was one of the older ones and looked like she didn‘t really want to be there with the little kids. Understandable, F‘ren thought and grinned at the girl. „Playing along?! That‘s a splendid idea don‘t you think, Mira? Elric? You wouldn‘t happen to know where instruments are, would you... I‘m sorry I don‘t know anyone‘s name here yet. What‘s yours?“

((*Hides under a rock* My last post in this thread was over a month ago! Yikes :/ And this is one of my favorite threads ever too!))
It warmed K‘vin‘s heart that L‘cin seemed as reluctant to let go. That tiny voice in his brain that had told him that L‘cin had only continued to hold his hand because he didn‘t want to seem rude and let go, disappeared and K‘vin was left with a feeling that could only be explained as ‘fluffy‘. His palms were a little sweaty and his heart was beating faster than usual, but despite that, this fluffy feeling felt good. K‘vin giggled a little when L‘cin ran into Queth and even allowed himself to call him ‘cute‘ in his head, K‘vin had decided that ‘cute‘ was definitely a word that applied to L‘cin, even if he was a boy.
Asileth ended up needing to rest once, grudgingly informing Queth before resting for a short while. It annoyed her that she wasn‘t as strong as the brown and couldn‘t make the trip in one go, but she was careful to not let Hers know, because the green sensed that this day was special for him and she certainly didn‘t want to do anything to destroy Hers good mood.
When they finally got there it was hard to tell who was more relieved, Asileth or K‘vin. K‘vin because he longed to talk to L‘cin and stare at him and it was impossible to do so while flying. He really, really, really wanted to know where this was going. Asileth because she was finally there and if she was honest to herself the trip had been a little hard. So she just wanted to have a good soak already in the ocean! So when they landed, she didn‘t give Hers any time to take the beautiful spot in and immediately commanded K‘vin to remove everything from her now. She was going to take a bath. K‘vin simply laughed good naturedly and did as she wished before turning his attention to L‘cin. „This place... Is really something.“ And it was. Nice and quiet and as beautiful as the rest of the island. „I never knew this existed, do people come here often?“ He really hoped they didn‘t, he wanted L‘cin all for himself for a little while at least.

Mine! Mine! Asileth was all but dancing in excitement. Trith has allowed the candidates to come touch the eggs! Can we pleeeaaaaase go too?
K‘vin snorted while he cleaned up their little weyr – it had been getting a little too messy. Why should we go to the touching? You don‘t want me to get another dragon, do you?
Asileth growled at that. Of course not Mine! Why do you say stupid things like that? You are Mine and only Mine and maybe Toll‘s a little too. I was simply suggesting that we go because I want to see the eggs and the happy faces of the candidates while they touch them. Remember, you touched my egg. Of course Asileth remembered no such thing but K‘vin had been talking about it earlier so she had decided that she did indeed remember when Hers touched her egg for the first time.
K‘vin sighed and finished straightening his furs. Now Asileth was offended and he knew she would sulk until he let her get her way. Well he wasn‘t completely averse to the idea, it would be fun to see the faces of the candidates fill with wonder. And their weyr was clean now. Fine, darling. We‘ll go see the little ones. If Asileth had the ability to grin smugly, she would have been when her rider gave in.
As they neared the hatching sands the pair grew increasingly on edge. Neither wanted to do anything that could possibly upset Trith and thus both walked the last bit to the hatching sands. Honestly they didn‘t even know if they were allowed there, a lowly green weyrling pair.
When they entered K‘vin smiled at the sight of the candidates touching lightly, stroking or even talking to the eggs. He remembered his own experience with the eggs. Asileth‘s egg had been so colorful and beautiful and even then she had been connected to K‘ron‘s eventual brown. Oh, Mine. Don‘t you look forward to when the eggs will hatch and the younglings will come? Asileth really couldn‘t wait for it to happen. If the queen hadn‘t been in such a delicate condition, Asileth would have practically lived on the sands since the touching. The pair didn‘t go any closer to the eggs but instead stayed where they were, at the edge of the sands so they wouldn‘t disturb or be in the way of anybody.

Eneth, Patch and F‘ren were on a secluded beach spending some much needed time with each other. They were all still in a state of shock after what had happened and none of them dared to let anyone of the trio out of their sight. Even Eneth made sure that Patch never strayed far away from him. So they were all now cuddled together, dozing in the afternoon sun. What they needed now, F‘ren decided, was something fun that could make them forget their terrible memories, if only for a little while.
Suddenly Eneth tensed and started trembling. Dalisth was rising. Eneth so wanted to chase but... Eneth feared what would happen, the events of his last flight fresh in his mind. He was a bad chaser anyway and doomed to a life where he would never catch one of those pretty, green dragons. Dalisth would probably out fly him anyways and mock him when she saw how unworthy he was. No, even though Eneth‘s body ached with the longing to chase, his mind won over and he stayed where he was.
What? Dalisth was rising? Why wasn‘t Eneth already up in the air? What was wrong with him? Eneth! Why aren‘t you chasing? This is what we‘ve looked forward to for ages! Forget that queenflight. That was your first flight and it wasn‘t your fault that you didn‘t catch her. This flight is entirely different. This is Dalisth. You know her and I know L‘mar. They‘re safe and there will be no bad bronzes interfering with this flight. No reason to. F‘ren was not going to stand by and let Eneth get away with not flying. Shard it! F‘ren just wanted some fun and release and this was exactly what he needed. What they both needed. Eneth‘s confidence in himself had never been so low and F‘ren missed his cocky, confident bronze.
F‘renhis wanted him to chase... And Eneth did so want to... And everything that His said made sense. No ugly, bad bronze would want to harm Dalisth, the lovely green. And she wouldn‘t be mean to him, would she? Eneth took off, flying tentatively at first but then faster so he could get to His green sooner. Flight lust soon took over and insecurities were put to the side. Dalisth! I will chase you, the loveliest green in the entire Weyr! No, the loveliest green on Pern!
F‘ren smiled triumphantly when his bronze left. It was time to find L‘mar. From what he gathered from Eneth‘s thoughts, L‘mar was close to Dalisth and on the beach. F‘ren knew that beach and it wasn‘t far from him. He started running, it wouldn‘t do to be late and miss all the fun!

F‘ren was humming a cheery Harper tune under his breath. Patch was perched on his shoulder, eagerly awaiting the foodstuffs he was going to get soon from the kitchens. The pair was in a good mood. Eneth was finally fit to fly and earlier they had gone flying together, Eneth had actually allowed Patch to come with them, all ill-feeling forgotten in the euphoria that followed free flying – without breaks. Both dragon and man had pushed the memory of the flight to the back of their minds and were also getting better emotionally and everything was finally fine again.
But what was this? F‘ren heard strange noises coming from the kitchens and immediately started hurrying to the kitchens, instantly wary. As he drew nearer he realized something terrible – there was a fire in the kitchens and a large one. Three men ran past him and F‘ren just knew that they had started the fire. F‘ren was going to run after them but remembered that there must be people in the kitchens – the drudges that he was going to sweet talk into giving him and Patch some food. F‘ren actually really liked the people that worked in the kitchens and considered some of them his friends.
Patch disappeared in terror into his bag but F‘ren had no time to comfort the blue. He tried to cover his mouth and nose with his shirt and ran into the kitchens. The sight was horrifying but F‘ren knew that as bad as the situation was now, it was going to get even worse. He knew that he wasn‘t going to be able to stop the fire, it was too late, but maybe he would be able to save a life and hopefully not lose his while doing it.
MINE! WHAT IS HAPPENING? THEY ARE EVERYWHERE! THE EVIL ONES ARE BACK! There was blind terror in Eneth‘s mind voice, and in his mind he was back in Trith‘s flight. Eneth was scared. F‘ren paused a little. He knew his dragon was too terrified to be of any use in the battle and in all honesty F‘ren just wanted Eneth to be safe, other dragons and people be damned. He tried his best to send calm and reassuring thoughts to Eneth, but he didn‘t have much time. Listen to me carefully Eneth. I want you to go now to the Crystal Caves and stay there until I say it‘s ok to come back. Ok? I‘ll be all right. I promise. I‘ll be safe, Patch will be here to protect me. Please Eneth, you have to go, I won‘t be able to focus on my own well being if I know you‘re in danger. F‘ren used a dirty trick to get Eneth to agree, he knew that by implying that Eneth would only be a distraction he was guranteeing that Eneth would go. And he was right, moments later Eneth had fled the Weyr.
Now F‘ren had to focus on the kitchens. There were several prone figures on the ground and he knew he wasn‘t going to be able to save them all. The first one he noticed was Kavvi. Sweet, stupid Kavvi. She always had some food to spare for him and gossiping with her was one of F‘ren‘s favorite pastimes. F‘ren refused to let himself see who the others were, that would mean having to choose, and F‘ren didn‘t want to do that. So he picked Kavvi up in his arms and got out of there as fast as he could, his heart breaking for the other people inside, desperately hoping that someone else would come help him.

K‘vin yawned while dragging his heavy feet to the library. He hadn‘t slept a wink the night before due to restlessness, something that happened about twice a Turn. There was nothing he could do about it and the day had been brutal on the tired weyrling, since there was enough to do in a day that would make a sufficiently slept weyrling tired. He had been a little slow all day, since he was not one of those people that handled lack of sleep well, and it seemed like his brain had been left behind in his weyr. So K‘vin had almost forgot that he had general cleaning duty, and when he remembered he couldn‘t even bring himself to hurry to the library, where a drudge had told him general cleaning people were. Oh well, he was only supposed to share the chore with L‘mar, and he was sure that the other green weyrling wouldn‘t tell on him.
Upon entering the library, K‘vin blinked slowly. So many people... And everything just got more confusing and hard. Evyi was there, a fellow green weyrling, L‘mar was of course there, some girl who he didn‘t know was also there and then there was K‘ron. That at least managed to make K‘vin perk up a little bit. He didn‘t spend nearly enough time with his best friend in the Weyr.
But really, they would have to meet up during their free time sometime, because K‘vin was not good company today. And... He didn‘t really know what he was supposed to be doing. The weyrling looked around with a wrinkled brow and tried to figure out where he was needed the most. „So... What do you want me to do? And oh yeah... Sorry I‘m la-“ and his last word was drowned in a huge yawn.

F‘ren whistled cheerfully while on his way to the creche. An afternoon with kids sounded a lot better than other chore options, like firestone bagging. F‘ren actually liked the little buggers, but his only regret was that he had had to leave Patch behind, knowing that the little blue would probably be scared out of his mind in the creche, with all the noise and curious fingers poking at him. Patch had resented being left behind at first, but after a while F‘ren managed to let him know that the creche was scary, and Patch didn‘t like scary things so he had curled up in F‘ren‘s furs. Both for warmth and to be out of Eneth‘s sight. There was no telling what the bronze would do when their bonded was not around.
Upon entering the creche, the first thing that F‘ren saw, and heard, were kids crying. Oh that wouldn‘t do, it made this chore considerably more unpleasant if the children were in a bad mood. And that candidate did not seem to be helping matters – rather it seemed like he was the cause of the crying.
F‘ren began storming towards man, intending to give him a piece of his mind, when he changed tactics. Being upset would only upset the children more, so F‘ren walked hurriedly to them with a smile on his face.
„Now, now, what is this? Was this man mean to you? Well you know, he was just pretending. He likes to do that sometimes, pretend to be a big, bad man. But he isn‘t really, I promise!“ F‘ren gave the man a glare that said that he‘d better play along or else-. „He just wanted you to be quiet because he was going to sing to you. He knows lots of fun songs that we can sing together.“ The bronze weyrling grinned at the man, he highly doubted that the candidate would be pleased.
F‘ren settled cross-legged on the floor and beckoned the crying children to him. One settled in his lap and the two others sat down beside F‘ren. More children drifted over to them to see what was going on and F‘ren gloated inwardly, this was going to be fun! „Well, why don‘t you start with telling us your name? My name is F‘ren by the way.“

Oh so the girl had a firelizard too. A brown. Brown‘s had always been F‘ren‘s least favorite dragons and firelizards. Their hide was dull and they had boring personalities. Brown dragonriders were usually a bore too. Well except L‘cin, he wasn‘t like a brownrider at all, more like a greenrider.
„Nice to meet you Danyan, you‘re a very handsome fellow aren‘t you? And you take good care of your bonded, don‘t you? I think you should be rewarded for bringing her such lovely shells. Would you like some meat?“ Yes, Synchella already had food, but F‘ren had learned that it was best to always stay on firelizards‘ good sides. And food was a popular method of F‘ren‘s to get people and firelizards alike to like him. Patch protested a little when his foodstuff was given to the brown, but the blue didn‘t dare to raise a big fuss.
F‘ren allowed himself a brief fond smile at Synchella. It really was quite endearing how new arrivals to the Weyr acted. But as a typical weyrling, he didn‘t have much time left for chit chat. „So, do you think you would want to draw Eneth? He really is a handsome dragon, if I do say so myself. Or are you perhaps bored already of drawing?“ Charming smile: check, eye contact: check, devastatingly good looks: check. Really, he had this already. F‘ren wasn‘t used to people saying no to him.

Ah, things were always so uncomplicated with L‘mar. F‘ren could just relax and be himself with the easygoing weyrling, but he always kept one eye open, just in case, to see if L‘mar was up to some tricks. He usually was. And now L‘mar was coming over to him, great, he had been meaning to ask him something. „Hey L‘mar- “
Oh, well. A little splash of water wasn‘t so bad. It was rather fun, really. F‘ren used both of his hands to send a big splash towards L‘mar before retreating until he was in a safe distance from the green weyrling. „Yeah, the water is nice. Imagine, we could be sweating with dust in our mouths if we had stayed. I‘m of the opinion that weyrlings shouldn‘t get chores. I mean, we have our hands full already with the dragons, we don‘t need some pesky chores. I‘m fine with candidates having chores though.“
And what was that, that F‘ren had started asking L‘mar about? Oh yes, the matter of his sister. „Hey L‘mar, what‘s the deal with your sister? Isn‘t she the moody one with a green dragon from the last clutch? You‘re really different you know.“ It seemed like everyone had siblings, and most probably did. Heck, F‘ren probably had some himself. His father had always been a bit popular with the female weyrfolk back in Southern. Like Father, like son.

He was getting the hang of this now, it would only be a matter of time until Trith was in his grasp. Eneth had actually started to show off a little, a little dive there and a little gliding here, but mostly he did his best to mirror Trith‘s every move. Trith dove, Eneth dove. Trith hugged the water, Eneth hugged the water. Trith shot up with the aid of rocks and Eneth did his best to speed up enough to stay close to her. The queen was bound to be impressed with how the young bronze kept up, Eneth was sure of it.
But then there was a new, big, ugly bronze there. Eneth barely gave him a moment‘s thought, no dragon mattered but Trith. But soon Eneth was very aware of the unknown bronze. He wasn‘t playing fair! He had knocked one of the others to the side! And- Eneth shrieked with pain as that bronze attacked Eneth‘s wing. But Eneth had to get his queen! If only to prevent that monster from getting her! But Eneth could barely fly anymore and he was losing his strength. The young bronze was forced to withdraw from the flight. Mine! I need you!
Eneth flew desperately back to the Weyr. It was a slow and agonizing flight and was made even harder when Dysiiliouth called that Trith had been attacked. Eneth nearly turned around but he knew that he would not be able to help Trith in his state. Instead fury gave him the energy he needed to complete the journey to the Weyr, where Eneth collapsed in exhaustion near the hatching sands.
F‘ren was caught up in flight lust but quickly started sensing through Eneth that something was wrong. And then all lust was shown to the side as F‘ren felt Eneth‘s pain through their bond. His dragon had been attacked and he needed him! F‘ren wasted no time in running from the flight rooms. He had probably never run so fast as he did on his way to the infirmary, where upon arriving F‘ren yelled at the people present unintelligible nonsense before calming himself down enough to say, „Eneth. Hurt.“
And then he ran straight up to the spot where Eneth had crashed. F‘ren immediately went to Eneth‘s head and caressed his dragon, trying to sooth the trembling creature. He didn‘t dare to look too much at Eneth‘s damaged wing, fearing what he would find.

I say that you withdraw completely from the RL for two days and do nothing else but writewritewrite and postpostpost But seriously, how did this happen!? And I agree with everyone else: teeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaseeeeeeeee! Wait, on further investigation I see that they are not all unfinished posts so maybe 1 1/2 of locking yourself in with the computer would do?
